SCF for PAM
ADD PORT Command
The value for the port address has these restrictions, depending on the type of port
specified:
• Ethernet port addresses must be a number greater than 1536 (%h 600).
• LLC1 port addresses must be an even number in the range 2 through 255.
• LLC2 port addresses must be a multiple of 4 in the range 0 through 255
(excluding 0).
DATAFORWARDCOUNT count
is the maximum number of inbound messages from LAN to be queued in PAM
before they are delivered to the application. The range of values is 1 through 22.
The default is 1.
The delivery of inbound messages is also triggered when the elapsed time since
the receipt of the first message equals the DATAFORWARDTIME value described
here, regardless of the number of messages received.
DATAFORWARDTIME timevalue | INFINITE
is the maximum amount of time an inbound message from the LAN should wait
before it is delivered. The value must be specified in HH:MM:SS.xxx format,
where HH is hours, MM is minutes, SS is seconds, and xxx is thousandths of a
second (milliseconds). The valid range is 0.01 second (10 milliseconds) through 60
seconds. The decimal point is significant. Fractions of a second must be entered
with a zero preceding the decimal point (for example, 0.01). If the message should
wait indefinitely, the keyword INFINITE must be specified.
Note that the delivery of inbound messages is also triggered when the number of
messages present in the receive queue equals the DATAFORWARDCOUNT value
described here, regardless of the amount of time elapsed.
DELIVERYMODE SERIAL | PARALLEL
determines how READ requests are queued. SERIAL causes all READs to be
queued together and serviced first-in, first-out. PARALLEL causes READ requests
to be queued separately for each opener of the port. Inbound messages are
delivered to each opener of the port that has a READ posted. The default is
SERIAL.
GROUPMACADDRESS macaddress | DEFAULT
is a locally administered media access control (MAC) address. The adapter listens
for frames that contain this group address at the MAC level instead of frames that
contain the individual-station MAC address. Several adapters can have the same
group MAC address. All of them will receive any frames sent to that address. This
group address overrides the adapter’s default individual-station MAC address only
for this particular port. The macaddress value must be specified as 12
hexadecimal digits with bit 0 of byte 0 set to 1. The keyword DEFAULT is used to
