Configuring the ASAP Extension
Example: Release 1 to Release 2 File Migration
11. Start ASAPX Release 2.
12. Watch the EMS log to ensure ASAPX is performing normally.
Note. Because ASAPX 2.0 uses increased segment sizes to support 1024 domains per
processor, the segments are not compatible with ASAPX 1.0 segments. Applications must
reregister in ASAPX 2.0 once it is installed. Due to this limitation, you cannot install ASAPX 2.0
in an ASAPX 1.0 environment with active domains.
However, you can rename the old segment files, install ASAPX 2.0 and then set Stats Disabled
in the old segment files. If applications are coded correctly to remove and reregister
themselves after receiving API errors, they can migrate to the new segments without a restart.
If you must do this, contact the HP Global Customer Support Center (GCSC) and request that
they ask ASAPX development for the tool to set Stats Disabled in the old segment files.
Example: Release 1 to Release 2 File Migration
This example of a Release 1 ASAPCONF file indicates which commands are the
same, which to change or delete, and which new commands to add to convert it to a
Release 2 ASAPCONF file:
