Issue Description
mxcheck error message regarding conflicting network addresses is unclear
When mxcheck detects that multiple interfaces have the same network address, it
reports the following:
Failure: Check IP network and interface assignments (networks)
Interface 10006 shares a network address with interface 10008, Matrix
Server requires each interface to have a unique IP network address.
HP Clustered File System needs each server to have at most one IP interface per IP
subnet so that it can continuously monitor each interface’s connectivity. On the
server where the error is reported, multiple interfaces have the same network
address, meaning they are in the same IP subnet, not that they have identical
IP
19168
addresses.
This can occur because interfaces are connected to the same IP subnet and get
addresses in the same IP subnet from DHCP. Either move some interfaces to
different IP subnets, manually reassign addresses in different IP subnets to the
interfaces, or disable the extra interfaces.
This situation can also occur because interfaces generated their own addresses
automatical y. These wil al be in the 169.254.0.0 (“zeroconf”) IP subnet. If you
want to use these interfaces on an Ethernet segment with no DHCP server (say, for
the cluster’s private networks), manual y assign addresses in private IP subnets (for
example, 192.168.0.0) to them and/or disable the extra interfaces.
If multiple interfaces were being used for performance or availability, use bonding
or teaming to make the interfaces look like a single logical interface to the
operating system.
Double quotes in role names require other characters in name
When double quotes are included in the name of a role, the name should include
19178 at

least one letter or digit for each double quote. For example, if there is one
double quote in the name, there should also be at least one letter or digit in the
name. If there are two double quotes, there should be at least two letters or
digits, and so on.
Custom setting for GcTrimLevel should be removed
In previous releases of HP Clustered File System, there have been recommendations
to add a registry set ing for GcTrimLevel to restrict the amount of Windows pool
memory consumed by the product. In HP Clustered File System 3.6, a new tunable
19442 GcTrimMax has been added that caps the maximum number of FCBs that the
product wil cache (the default is 10,000). With the new set ings, the defaults
should be suitable for al but the most unusual workloads. HP advises customers
to remove any custom setting of GcTrimLevel when upgrading to HP Clustered
File System 3.6.
FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NOT_CONTENT_INDEXED cannot be set on PSFS filesystems via
Windows Explorer
When viewing files on a PSFS filesystem with Windows Explorer, the Properties
20040 dialog does not contain a link to the Advanced Attributes dialog, which contains
the FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NOT_CONTENT_INDEXED attribute.
Workaround. For Vista/Windows 2008 clients, use the attrib command to set
the at ribute.
