This function is useful when copying newspapers or an original, which has background color. The settings of the Background Removal changes to “Off” if Photo is selected in the Original Type. The settings of Background Removal and BleedThrough Prevention become invalid if Photo is selected in the Original Type. 1Select “Custom Setting”. To display this screen, refer to steps 1 to 4 of Quality Adjusting (see page 22). 2Select “Background Removal”. 3Adjust the level of Background Removal with “-” and “+”, and then select “OK”. 4Select “OK”. For the following procedure, refer to steps 6 to 8 of Quality Adjusting (see page 23). Background Removal There are 6 levels. Reddish color accentuated Bluish color accentuated More Red Each time it is selected, the level of reddish color increases by 1 grade. (The bluish color level decreases by 1 grade.)
