If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THIS PLUG OR DEFEAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE IN ANY WAY. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Set fan base on a dry and level surface where fan cannot accidentally be tipped over. 2. Plug into any standard 120 volt AC outlet. 3. Make sure fan is OFF ( 0 ), then grasp fan head in both hands and tip downward or upward to direct its cooling air flow wherever you want it. 4. You are now ready to operate the fan at the speed of your choice. Choose HIGH ( II ) or LOW ( I ) speeds by the tap of your toe or the touch of your fingertips on the speed control button ( ) located on the base of the fan. Oscillation (For BPF1140 only) The oscillation switch ( ) is located on the top of the motor housing. To start oscillation, push switch to the ON (I) position. CLEANING/MAINTENANCE During Season Care: Always unplug the fan before cleaning. 1. Be sure to only use a soft cloth moistened with a mild soap solution. 2. DO NOT IMMERSE fan in water or allow water to drip into the fan housing. Avoid the use of gasoline, benzene, thinner, etc. This will result in damage to the fan. 3. We also recommend periodic cleaning of this fan by lightly running your vacuum cleaner nozzle over the fan grill to remove any accumulated dust or dirt from inside the unit. The motor of this fan is permanently lubricated and needs no maintenance. TROUBLESHOOTING If your fan fails to operate: Make sure the electrical outlet or circuit breaker is working. Please DO NOT attempt to open or repair the fan. Please see the Warranty for Service Instructions. This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an authorized JCS service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes. What are the limits on JCS’s Liability? JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express, implied or statutory warranty or condition. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty. JCS disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or otherwise.
