• Timed mode: you have to achieve the best score before the time bar runs out. When you get the same coloured bubble together, the time bar will increase. 127 Fun box • Skilled mode: you have to make more then 4 bubbles disappear at once for the skill bar to increase. If less than 4 bubbles disappear, the skill bar will decrease. Continue: allows you to continue the last game you played. The menu is only available when a game has already been played. High score: shows you the high score table. How to play: shows you the instruction of this game. Option: allows you to turn the sound on or off Playing a game Your score goes up when you remove the bubbles. The bubbles will disappear only when more than 3 of the same colour line up horizontally or diagonally. To line up the bubbles, move the band surrounding the 3 bubbles to suitable place and rotate it. When the game is over, your score is ranked on the high score board if it is within the top 3 scores. Key Commands 2, 4, 6, 8, or navigation keys: move the band up, down, left, or right 1: rotate the bubbles in the band counterclockwise 3: rotate the bubbles in the band clockwise Internet settings This menu option allows you to set the information to connect to the Java server. This information is provided by the network operator automatically, but you can change it manually. 128 Fun box APN: enter the access point name used for the address of the GPRS network gateway. The display also shows the total memory and used memory. 129 Fun box Melody composer (Menu 6-4) Compose melody Melody Composer allows you to compose your own melodies using a variety of musical components. You can set one of your melodies as your ringtone or send them to other people by using the multimedia message service. When you access the Compose melody menu option, a composition screen with a stave displays with a selection point at the first note position (Do). Creating a melody You can compose a melody of up to 10 pages. 1. Move the selection point up or down by pressing the Up or Down key. 2. When you place the selection point correctly, press the Input soft key. 3. Scroll a note or rest and press the OK soft key or press the corresponding number key to insert it. The note or rest is inserted onto the stave and the selection point moves to the right on the same line as the entered note or rest. 4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to add more notes and rests. Note: You can also add the background melody, change the tempo, or adjust the volume by using the composer options. See the following page. 130 Fun box 5. When you have completed your melody, press the Options soft key. 6. Select Save and press the Select soft key. 7. Enter a melody title and press the OK soft key. The melody is saved and a new stave displays. Using the composer options While composing a melody, press the Options soft key to access the following options: New: opens a new composer screen. Open: opens the list of your own melodies. Play: plays back the current melody. Save: saves the melody. Save as: allows you to save the melody as a different name. Instrument: allows you to change the musical instrument for the melody. Background melody: allows you to use the background melody. You can choose one of a variety of music genres, such as Dance, Jazz, Latin, Pop, or Reggae. Add note: allows you to add notes in different chord. Tempo: allows you to change the tempo for the melody. Volume: allows you to adjust the volume level of the main and background melodies separately. 131 Fun box Editing a melody While composing a melody or after opening a saved melody, you can edit it. 1. To change an entered note or rest, move the selection point by pressing the Left or Right key. The colour of the selected one changes to red to indicate that it is in Edit mode. 2. Change the position of the note or type of the note or rest the same as you would when inserting it. Press the or key to move a note to the next semitone higher position or lower position. You can access the following options by pressing the Options soft key in Edit mode. • Range: allows you to select more than one note or rest by pressing the Left or Right key.
