To ensure proper engine operation, the spark plug must be properly gapped and free of deposits. If the engine has been running, the muffler will be very hot. Be careful not to touch the muffler. SPARK PLUG 1. Remove the spark plug cap. WRENCH 2. Clean any dirt from around the spark plug base. 3. Use the spark plug wrench supplied in the tool kit to remove the spark plug. 4. CHECK OIL LEVEL OFTEN DURING ENGINE BREAK-IN. A. POSITION EQUIPMENT SO ENGINE IS LEVEL. B. Clean area around oil fill plug (see Figure 1). C. Remove oil fill plug and dipstick. D. Wipe dipstick clean, insert it into oil fill hole and tighten securely. Remove dipstick. If oil is not up to “FULL” mark on dipstick, add recommended oil. POUR SLOWLY.
