Use consistent OS and software versions in the fabric
HP requires all systems in the fabric to use both the same HP-UX OS software version, and the
same HP-UX Fabric Clustering System for InfiniBand software version, such as version
B.11.31.1303.
HP requires all switches in the fabric to use the same firmware image version such as:
HP-374305-001-Release-2.5.0hp-build014.img
Use the latest software and switch firmware available online at: http://support.hp.com .

Infiniband adapter firmware is not being automatically updated during boot.
The driver provides the default firmware which is packaged along with the driver module. If
the card has a lower version of the firmware than the driver packaged firmware, the following
message appears in the dmesg:
HP-InfiniBand:/ux/core/isu/IBand/kern/src/common/ib_tvr/ib_tvr_drv.c:
42757: 0/0/0/6/0/0/0: ib_t: Firmware version on the HCA is old.
Please use 'itutil' to upgrade it to the 2.9.0 version of the
firmware.
In this case, to update the driver packaged firmware on the adapter, use the command itutil
-d trace interface_name sigpot_id.
For example: itutil -d trace ib0 1
If the card firmware needs to be explicitly updated to a newer firmware version file , use this
command: itutil -d file *.bin interface_name sigpot_id
Once it is updated through itutil a reboot or a power cycle of the slot is required to reflect the
new firmware version.

The infiniband driver supports automatic recovery during PCI Error Injection but auto recovery
is not always successful.
Example: In the Scenario, if there are some IPOIB consumers which are still using the card
resources during PCI Error injection, then auto recovery fails. The following error message
appears on the console:
