4 Known problems and limitations

Interrupt migration causes momentary link down events.
Severity: Medium (for vPars configurations); Low (for non-vPars configurations)
This problem occurs under a limited set of conditions and configuration details; most customers
are not exposed to it.
Customers using the ixgbe driver and AD385A or AB287A 10 Gigabit Ethernet PCI-X
adapters will experience momentary “link down” event when migrating card interrupts to
another CPU. Interrupt migration occurs for a variety of reasons, most of which are under the
control of system administrators. When an Interrupt Migration is performed on AB287A or
AD385A adapters configured with Service Guard heartbeat, Service Guard TOC events might
occur.
This problem has been assigned the following ID: “QXCR1000938740 – ixgbe: link goes
down during Interrupt migration (can lead to a SG TOC).”
Workarounds: There are several possible workarounds, which must be carefully chosen based
on the system configuration. Contact your support representative for details.
