Always have this Operating manual on hand. 5 Inspect the appliance immediately after unpacking for damage. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact the nearest Ariston service center. Always keep product packaging (such as plastic bags, polystyrene parts, and nails) out of reach of children since they can be dangerous. 6 This appliance must be installed by a qualified engineer only according to the instructions provided. The manufacturer disclaims any responsibility for consequential damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect appliance installation. 7 This appliance is electrically secure only if it was properly and efficiently grounded as required by relevant local regulations. Always make sure that the grounding is efficient; if in doubt contact a qualified electrician to check the system. Manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by a system that was not grounded. 8 Make sure that specification on the nameplate (on the appliance/packaging) conforms to the specification of your electrical or gas distribution network before connecting the appliance to the mains. 9 Check whether the electrical mains including the breaker can accommodate the appliance's load (specified on the nameplate). If in doubt contact a qualified expert. 10 The mains must include a multi-pole switch whose contacts must be at least 3 mm apart when switched off. 11 If the plug cannot be inserted in the socket, contact a qualified technician who will replace the socket with a more suitable type. The qualified technician should check whether the mains diameter is suitable for powering the appliance at the same time. Using adaptors, multi-sockets and/or extension cords is not recommended. If you must use such equipment, use only simple or multi-adaptors or extension cords that meet requirements of valid security standards at all times. In such case never exceed the maximum output power specified on the simple adaptor or extension cord and maximum output specified on the multi-adaptor. 12When not in use, switch off the power to the appliance and close the gas faucet. 13 Never obstruct the ventilation slots and heat dissipation slots. 14 Never replace the mains cord of this appliance. If the mains cord is damaged or needs to be replaced always contact a service center authorized by the manufacturer. 15 This appliance must be used for the purpose it is intended for. Any other use (such as heating a room) is considered to be incorrect and thus dangerous. Manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by using the appliance incorrectly or irresponsibly. 16 A few basic rules must be followed when using electrical appliances. The following rules are especially important: * Never touch the appliance if your hands or feet are wet. * Never work with the appliance barefoot. * Do not use extension cords; if you must use them, move them carefully. * Do not unplug the appliance by pulling the mains cord or the appliance itself. * Do not expose the appliance to weather effects (rain, direct sunlight etc.). * Prevent children and incompetent people from reaching the appliance unattended. 17 Always unplug the appliance or switch off the power before cleaning or maintaining the appliance. 18 When decommissioning the appliance, secure it by cutting off the mains cord (disconnect it from the mains first). Also put all potentially dangerous parts of the appliance out of reach of children who could play with the decommissioned appliance. 19 To prevent accidental spilling of the boiling liquid do not place dishware with uneven or deformed bottom on the heating plate burners. Bend pot and pan handles inside to prevent accidental collision of dishware. 20 Heating elements and certain parts of the oven door reach high temperature during appliance use. Be sure not to touch them and prevent children from getting too close to them. 21 Never use flammable liquids such as spirit or petrol near the operating appliance. 22 If you use small electrical appliances near the heating plate, prevent the mains cord from touching the heated appliance surface. 23 When not using the appliance, check if the regulating buttons are in the "•" / "0" position. 24 Certain parts of the oven door reach high temperature during oven or grill operation. Prevent children from getting close to the oven door. 25 Gas appliances require sufficient ventilation. That is the only way to operate them perfectly. When installing the stove bear in mind the instructions in the "Location" chapter. 26 Warning: never put hot containers or flammable objects into the space under the stove intended for heating food. 27 If the stove is placed on a pedestal, take every possible precaution to prevent the stove from sliding off the pedestal.
