2. If possible Install the unit where the sunlight does not shine directly on the unit. 3. The outside of the cabinet must extend outward for at least 12" and there should be no obstacles, such as a fence or wall, within 20" from the back of the cabinet, as it will prevent heat radiation of the condenser. Restriction of outside air will greatly reduce the cooling efficiency of the air conditioner. 5. Install the unit with the bottom about 30"- 60" above the floor level. Window Requirements NOTE:

Capacitor Connections The starting winding of a motor can be damaged by a shorted and grounded running capacitor. This damage usually can be avoided by proper connection of the running capacitor terminals. From the supply line on a typical 230 volt circuit, a 115 volt potential exists from the “R” terminal to ground through a possible short in the capacitor. However, from the “S” or start terminal, a much higher potential, possibly as high as 400 volts, exists because of the counter EMF generate

This will keep oil from foaming and being drawn into the vacuum pump. 3) Operate the vacuum pump vaccum for 20 to 30 minutes, until 600 microns of vaccum is obtained. Close valves A and B, and observe vacuum gauge for a few minutes. A rise in pressure would indicate a possible leak or moisture Figure 29 remaining in the system. With valves A and B closed, stop the vacuum pump. 4) Remove the hose from the vacuum pump and place it on the charging cylinder. See figure 37B. Open valve C. Discharge t

Restricted Refrigerant System Troubleshooting a restricted refrigerant system can be difficult. The following procedures are the more common problems and solutions to these problems. There are two types of refrigerant restrictions: Partial restrictions and complete restrictions. A partial restriction allows some of the refrigerant to circulate through the system. With a complete restriction there is no circulation of refrigerant in the system. Restricted refrigerant systems display the same symp

• TO CLEAN FILTER The air filter will become dirty as it removes dust from the inside air. It should be washed at least every 2 weeks. If the air filter remains full of dust, the air flow will decrease and the cooling capacity will be reduced, possibly damaging the unit. 1. Pull the inlet grille forward and pull out the air filter. (Fig. 1) 2. Wash the air filter in warm water. Be sure to completely dry the filter before placing it back into the unit. • CLEANING THE AIR CONDITIONER The front gri
