SAFETY PRECAUTIONSSAFETY PRECAUTIONS Power Supply • Do not share the same power outlet withother equipment. • Do not modify power cords. • Do not use extension cords. • Do not operate with wet hands. • Use the specified supply cord. • If the supply cord is damaged, it must bereplaced by the manufacturer, its serviceagent or similarly qualified persons inorder to avoid a hazard. • This equipment must be earthed andstrongly recommended to be installedwith Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker(ELCB) or Residual Current Device(RCD). Otherwise, it may cause electricalshock or fire in case of malfunction. • In case of emergency or abnormalconditions (burnt smell, etc), turn off the power supply, and please consultauthorized dealer. Power Supply • Switch off the power supplybefore cleaning or servicing. • Turn off the power supply if theunit is not used for a long periodof time. • This air conditioner is equippedwith a built-in surge protectivedevice. However, in orderto further protect your airconditioner from being damagedby abnormally strong lightningactivity, you may want todisconnect it from the powersupply. Do not touch the airconditioner during lightning, itmay cause electric shock. Air inlAir inlet AirAir outletoutlet Air outlet Air inlet Air inlet Remote Control • Do not use rechargeable(Ni-Cd) batteries. • Do not allow infants and small children to playwith the remote control to prevent them fromaccidentally swallowing thebatteries. • Remove the batteries if the unit is not going to be usedfor a long period of time. • New batteries of the same type must be insertedfollowing the polarity statedto prevent malfunction ofthe remote control. Outdoor Unit • Do not sit or step on the unit, youmay fall down accidentally. • Do not touch the sharp aluminiumfin, sharp parts may cause injury. • Ensure that the drainage pipe isconnected properly. Otherwise, leakage may occur. • After long periods of use, makesure the installation rack is not damaged. Indoor Unit • Do not install, remove andreinstall the unit by yourself; improper installation willcause leakage, electricshock or fire. Please consult authorized dealer or specialistfor the installation work. • Do not insert your fingers orother objects into the unit, rotating parts may causeinjury. • Do not attempt to repair theunit by yourself. Indoor Unit • Do not install the unit in a potentially explosive atmosphere. • Do not wash the unit with water, benzene, thinner or scouringpowder. • Do not use for other purposessuch as preservation of food. • Do not use any combustibleequipment in front of the airflow outlet. • Do not expose directly to cold airfor a long period. • Ensure that the drainage pipe isconnected properly.
