Always allow the appliance to cool before cleaning and storing. Always ensure hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance. Always store excess portion of the power cord in the storage compartment of the base unit. Always use the appliance on a dry level surface. Before connecting to a power source, make sure your mains supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on the bottom label of this appliance. Fill the kettle to the maximum mark (without the base unit). Bring to the boil and then discard the water. Repeat this procedure two more times. This removes any residues that may have remained from the manufacturing process. Remove and rinse the filter before use. NOTE: PLEASE REMOVE ALL LABELS BEFORE USE. HOW TO USE - CONVENTIONAL BOILING MODE Plug the kettle into a suitable power outlet. Ensure the On/Off switch is in the Off position ("O"). In addition check that the “Power On” blue LED indicator light, visible through the water window, is not illuminated and the red LED status indicators are not flashing. If the red LED status indicators are flashing press the Keep Warm button to switch them off. Remove the kettle from the base. Open the lid by depressing both lid release buttons simultaneously and gripping the central rib. Lift the hinged lid backwards. Alternatively the kettle can be filled through the spout. Observe the maximum level indicators, marked on the water window to prevent overfilling. Fill the kettle with no less than the minimum (0.5L) and no more than the maximum amount (1,7L) of water. Ensure the kettle is not overfilled by checking the water level with the kettle placed on a dry, level surface. Check the lid is fully closed to ensure correct operation of the kettle.
