manual abstract
See the descriptions in the following sections: 2 Refrigerator temperature setting button When the appliance has been turned on, the indicator light will flash until working temperature has been reached. When working temperature has been reached, the light will stay on permanently. Depending on the amount of food put in the appliance and room temperature, the indicator light may start flashing once more until the selected temperature has been reached again. Operating tips • The fan (Fig, Q/18) turns itself on and off as required by the refrigrator compartment. (not all models) • The sides of the housing are sometimes heated slightly. This prevents condensation in the area of the door seal. • While the refrigerating unit is running, beads of water or hoarfrost form at the back of the refrigerator compartment. This is quite normal. It is not necessary to scrape off the frost or wipe off the beads of water. The rear panel defrosts automatically. The condensation is conveyed down the drainage channel, Fig. I/A, to the refrigerating unit where it evaporates. • If the air humidity is high, condensation may form in the refrigerator compartment, especially on the glass shelves. If this is the case, pack or wrap the food and select a lower temperature in the refrigerator compartment. • If you cannot open the freezer compartment door immediately after closing it, wait 2–3 minutes until the partial vacuum has equalised. • The refrigeration system may cause several areas of the freezer shelves to frost quickly. This does not affect function or power consumption. The appliance does not require defrosting until the entire surface of the freezer shelf is covered with more than 5 mm of frost or ice. • Do not allow grease or oil to come into contact with plastic parts inside the refrigerator or the door seal. Both this plastic and the rubber door seal. Both this plastic and the rubber door seal are liable to perish. • To enhance appliance performance to the full, do not place foodstuff near to refrigerator compartment sensor (fig. Q/19). • Important for the storage of frozen products: If the temperature in the area around the appliance falls beneath +19.C, the system for low room temperatures will come on automatically. When this system comes on, the interior light will come and stay on at low power. This is not a fault. en The temperature needed in order to store frozen products for long periods of time in the freezer compartment is maintained in this way. Switching off anddisconnecting theappliance Switching off the appliance Fig. W Press button 1 to turn the appliance off; the indicator lights will go out and the interior light will be deactivated. Disconnecting theappliance When the appliance is not to be used for a long period of time: • Remove the plug from the mains electricity socket. • Defrost and clean the appliance. • Leave the doors on the appliance open.
