Do not use for industrial purposes. Do not use the appliance for any other purposes than described in this instruction manual. • Do not use outdoors. • Always unplug the appliance from the power supply before cleaning and when not in use. • Do not attempt to repair, adjust or replace parts in the appliance. Repair the malfunctioning appliance in the service center only. • Do not operate after malfunction or cord damage. • Keep the cord away from sharp edges and hot surfaces. • Always attach the cooker hood centered above the hotplates. • Minimum distance between gas cooker and lower edge of the cooker hood is 75 cm, and for electric cooker - 65 cm. • Make sure that the connection cable did not clamp during installation. • Never operate the cooker hood without the metal filter. • Do not allow the ignition under switched on cooker hood. It can result the fire. Do not overlook that the overheated fat can be ignited. In case of ignition immediately switch off the cooker hood and set all regulators of a cooker at switch off position. • Because of hygienic and safeguard reasons, the metal filter should be cleaned regularly, as the dripping on a range burner fat can cause fire. OPERATING MODES • You can used the cooker hood in two different modes: - The exhaust is conducted upwards via a ventilation shaft or directly through the outside wall into the atmosphere; - The air purified by an additional activated metal filter is returned back into the room. EXHAUST-AIR MODE (PIC.1) • The cooker hood extracts the kitchen vapors and conveys through the metal filter into the atmosphere. The kitchen is kept almost free of grease and odors. • The metal filter absorbs the solid particles in the kitchen vapors. NOTE: • The exhaust air must be conveyed only into specially provided channels. • If the cooker hood is in exhaust-air mode and fireplace or other flue-type heater is running at the same time (e.g. gas, oil or solid-fuel heaters, continuous-flow heaters, water heaters), ensure that the fireplace has an adequate air supply for burning. • Safe operation requires that the low air pressure in the room in which the fireplace is located does not exceed 4 Pa (0.04 mbar). CIRCULATION-AIR MODE (PIC.2) • The cooker hood extracts the kitchen vapors, which are purified in the metal filter and than conveyed back into the kitchen. USING BEFORE USING WARNING! • Please, remove the polyfoam under the glass shield before use. • The flame of the gas hotplates must always be covered with a cooking utensil. The intensive heat development of the naked gas flames could damage the cooker hood. • The kitchen vapors are best eliminated by: - Switching on the cooker hood at the start of cooking; - Switching off the cooker hood several minutes after cooking has ended. • Fan settings: - 0 - off; - I - low; - II - medium; - III - high. . Light: - <3 - off. FILTER • For absorbing grease particles from kitchen vapors, the cooker hood is equipped with a metal filter. IMPORTANT: replace the metal filter in good time, otherwise there is a risk of fire from the heat which accumulates during deep-fat frying or roasting. REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE METAL FILTER • Turn the interlocks on the left and right sides of the filter griller. • Remove the filter grill. • Remove the wire clasp. • Clean the filter grille (see Chapter CLEANING AND CARE). • Re-insert cleaned metal filter and clamp them with the wire clasp. • Re-insert the filter grille and fix with the interlocks. REPLACING THE LAMP • Switch off the cooker hood and unplug from power supply. • Replace the lamp. Use only lamps max. 40 W, E14 lamp holder. • Plug the cooker hood to power supply. CLEANING AND CARE • Before cleaning unplug the cooker hood from power supply. • Clean the cooker hood with a hot soapy solution or with a mild window cleaning agent. • Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges. • Clean the switches only with a soft, moist cloth (mild soapy solution). Do not clean the switches with a stainless-steel cleaning agent. CLEANING THE METAL FILTER • Depending on activity of use the metal filter must be replaced every 8 or 10 weeks. • Replace the metal filter (see part FILTER). • The metal filter can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Slight discoloration may occur. Do not clean heavily saturated metal filter with other dishes. • If cleaning by hand, soak the grease filters in a hot soapy solution. Then brush off any residual grease, rinse thoroughly and leave to dry. STORAGE • Complete all requirements of chapter CARE AND CLEANING • Keep the appliance in a cool, dry place. 3 SC-8001 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE • Before requesting servicing, be sure: - The cooker hood plugged to power supply; - The discharge pipe i nstalled correctly (when the cooker hood used in exhaust-air mode); - The metal filter is clean; - The lamps are intact and screwed. • Do not attempt to repair, adjust or replac...
