DANGER: Electrical Shock Use this product only as described in this manual.• Operate this product on 120 V AC, 60 HZ only.• Do not operate without cover in place.• Do not defeat the interlock switch.• Do not operate with an extension cord.• To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this equipment has a polarized • plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact qualified personnel to install the proper outlet. DO NOT alter the plug in anyway. Do not operate this product if there is any physical damage to the unit.• This product is for indoor use only.• Do not operate this product in any area where there is a risk of the unit fall• ing into or being exposed to water. Opening windows or doors while operating this device may • affect performance. Over time with use the UV-C bulb will lose some intensity - approximately 15% at 4000 hours. Therefore it is suggested to replace the UV-C light bulb approximately every 6 months depending on use. HOW IT WORKS Purified air is released into the room. UV-C light kills or inactivates airborne bacteria. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE PROBLEM SOLUTION Unit doesn’t operate. Check that unit is plugged in. DIRECTIONS FOR USE USE OF THE GERM GUARDIAN PLUGGABLE When the Germ Guardian Pluggable is turned on you will see a ring of blue light that lets you know it is working. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, loosen and remove the Phillips screw located at the top backside of the unit. 3. Remove the top cap by lifting it off of the top of the unit. 4. Place the unit on a table or level surface in the upright position. 5. Hold the unit in place with one hand. Locate the bulb and reach into the cylinder. 6. With your opposite hand, turn the bulb in a counter-clockwise direction (left) to loosen from the socket. 1. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. 7. Take new bulb and screw into unit using a clockwise motion. 8. Wipe off fingerprints with a dry cloth after bulb is installed. 9. Reassemble by reversing steps 1-6. WARNING ULTRAVIOLET-C LIGHT IS EMITTED FROM THE BULB WHEN THE UNIT IS ELECTRIFIED, EYE INJURY OR IRRITATION COULD RESULT. UNPLUG THE UNIT WHEN SERVICING THE BULB TO AVOID OVEREXPOSURE OF EYES AND SKIN TO THE ULTRAVIOLET-C LIGHT. Discard the used bulb by following the recommended disposal procedure for a used fluorescent bulb. The bulb should only be used in the Germ Guardian Pluggable (GG1000) and all instructions for use must be folllowed. WARNING misapplying or misusing the UV-C bulb could cause injury to the eyes or skin. never use the bulb without installing it in the unit as instructed. never operate the unit without the top cap in place. This product can be serviced or maintained only by changing the UV-C bulb. The unit contains no serviceable parts. All parts, except the UV-C bulb, are warranted for 1-year from date of purchase.
