IMPORTANT NOTES • Read these instructions carefully. Safeguard them for future reference. • Before plugging the dehumidifierinto the mains supply, check that the voltage corresponds with that stated on the characteristics plate. The use of an electrical socket with an earth connection is recommended.. • Never use electrical adapters for connecting the appliance. • Never connect the plug to the mains supply with wet hands. • Always place the appliance and stand it on a flat,stablesurface. Thiswillensure that the appliance operates correctly and does not make noise. • Never use the dehumidifierinnarrow, airtight spaces. • Leave a free space around the appliance. Keep the appliance at least 20 cm away from the nearest wall to ensure that it can dissipate the heat that it pro- duces. • Keep the appliance away from radiators or other sources of heat. • For maximum performance, try not to place objects either in front of or behind the dehumidifierandkeepthedoorsand windows closed while it is operating. • Never place objects on top of the dehumidifier. • Make sure that the air inlets and/or outlets never become partially or fully covered over while the appliance is operating. • Never switch it off by tugging on the mains cable. Always use the switch. • Do not allow children to play with the appliance. • If using continuous drainage, place the drain pipe in a horizontal position. • Before attempting to move the dehumidifier, unplugitandemptythe water tank. • Never place it on its side or lay it down flat. • Never insert objects inside the appliance or the water tank. • Always unplug the dehumidifierbefore cleaning it or if it is not going to be used for a prolonged period. • Never immerse the cable, plug or unit into water or any other liquid. • Always use a damp cloth to clean the appliance. Do not spray it with water nor use abrasive cleaning products. • Do not use sharp objects to clean the air inlets and outlets. • Never switch the appliance on if either the cable or plug are damaged, some object or water has got inside the appliance or if the appliance is not operating correctly. • ATTENTION: Never remove any of the covers. There are no user serviceable parts on the inside. Cable repairs and replacements must be carried out exclusively by an Authorised Technical Service Centre. 2. SWITCHING ON After unpacking the appliance, wait 2 hours before attempting to switch it on for the firsttime,asthiswillgivethegas a chance to settle. Make sure that the electrical plug is fittedsecurelyintothe wall socket. Check that the outlet for the continuous drainage is shut correctly. Check that the water tank (9) is fitted correctly (if the tank full warning lamp (5) lights up after having switched the appliance on for the firsttimethenremove the water tank (9) for a second and refit it in the correct position). This appliance has been designed to operate at temperatures between 5 and 35.C. Make sure that the humidity switch (2) is in the <0> position. Plug the appliance in and turn the humidity switch in a clockwise direction to the desired position. The ON lamp (4) will light up. If the chosen humidity setting is greater than the actual humidity then the dehumidifier will not start operating. The appliance will switch itself on and off automatically, maintaining the chosen humidity setting. The appliance is equipped with an automatic defrost system. This will come on from time to time and the pilot lamp (6) will light up. This system ensures that the dehumidifier operates correctly. When the process has finished,theappliancewillgobackto normal operation automatically. Note: • To prevent damaging the compressor, do not switch the appliance on and off repeatedly. Apart from being beneficial for the machine, it will also save energy. • If you do switch the appliance on and off repeatedly then sometimes the compressor will remain off for a few minutes. This is quite normal when the appliance is operating correctly. 3. ATTACHING THE OPTIONAL WHEEL FITTING This appliance can be used with or without wheels. If you wish to attach the wheel fittingto the appliance, slot the wheel fitting(11) into the base of the appliance, making sure that the guide point toward the front of the dehumidifier. 4. EMPTYING THE TANK When the water reaches a set level inside the tank, the red tank full warning lamp (5) will light up and the dehumidifierwill stop automatically. Remove the tank, empty its content and fititbackintoposition.Thedehumidifier will start up again automatically. Hold the tank on either side to pour its content away. 5. CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE In those places where continuous drainage is required, it will be necessary to fitadrainpipe. To do this, follow the steps given below: - Open the continuous drain outlet (10) by turning the stopper clockwise. - Pull out the rubber stopper (Fig 6) to open the outlet. - Remove the water tank (9) and place the said stopper into the outlet on the water tank (Fig 8). - Insert a flexiblePVCtube(Inter...
