If your TV/VCR has a 21-pin adaptor (EUROCONNECTOR) You need the 21-pin adaptor (optional) to connect your camcorder to a TV for viewing recorded images. This adaptor is designed for output use only. TV/VCR Recording/ Playback 29 Using the Menu Using the menu items Follow the instructions below to use each of the menu items listed after this page. 1 Slide the POWER switch in the direction of the arrow repeatedly to turn on the respective lamp. When you want to record a subject at close range, move the power zoom lever to W (wide angle), then adjust the focus. • The minimum possible distance between camcorder and subject while maintaining sharp focus is about 1 cm (about 13/32 in.) for wide angle and about 80 cm (about 2 5/8 feet) for telephoto. • The setting returns to [ AUTO] when you turn the power off for more than 12 hours. SPOT METER (Flexible spotmeter) You can adjust and fix the exposure to the subject, so that it is recorded in suitable brightness even when there is strong contrast between the subject and the background, such as subjects in the spotlight on stage. To return the setting to automatic exposure, touch [ AUTO] or set [EXPOSURE] to [ AUTO]. • If you set [SPOT METER], [EXPOSURE] is automatically set to [MANUAL]. • The setting returns to [ AUTO] when you turn the power off for more than 12 hours. FADER You can add the following effects to currently recording pictures. 1 Select the desired effect in standby mode (to fade in) or recording mode (to fade out), then touch t . 2 Press REC START/STOP. The fader indicator stops flashing and disappears when the fade is complete.
