REC MODE (Recording mode You can select an image quality of the movie from three levels. HQ (hq) Record in high quality mode (approx. recordable time is up to 20 min). ► SP (sp) Records in standard quality mode (approx. recordable time is up to 30 min). LP (lp) Increases the recording time (Long Play) (approx. recordable time is up to 60 min). • The time in parenthesis indicates the approximate recordable time when recording only a movie on a single-sided disc. When recording on a double-sided disc, this value is applied for both sides. • Your camcorder has a VBR encoding system (p.12) so when you record an object that moves fast, the time available for recording may shorten. • If you record in the LP mode, the quality of scenes may be degraded, or scenes with quick movements may appear with a block noise when you play back the disc. VOLUME See page 33. MULTI-SOUND You can select whether to play back audio recorded using other devices with dual sound or stereo sound. 65 Using the Setup items STANDARD SET (continued) ► STEREO Plays back with main and sub sound (or stereo sound). 1 Plays back with main sound or the left channel sound. 2 Plays back with sub sound or the right channel sound. • The setting returns to [STEREO] when you have the power source disconnected from your camcorder for more than 5 minutes.
