Save This Manual Keep this manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly, operating, inspection, maintenance and cleaning procedures. Write the product’s serial number in the back of the manual near the assembly diagram (or month and year of purchase if product has no number). Keep this manual and the receipt in a safe and dry place for future reference. General Safety Rules Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 45 pounds. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a tool. Do not use a tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating tools may result in serious personal injury. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, work gloves or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the tool in unexpected situations. Store idle tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the tool or these instructions to operate the tool. Tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. Position batteries in proper polarity. Do not install batteries of different types, charge levels, or capacities together. Maintain labels and nameplates on the tool. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children. The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator. Save these instructions. Specifications Power Requirements Three 1.5V AAA Batteries (included) Maximum Weight 45 Pounds Unpacking When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible. Operating Instructions Read the entire warning section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. Open the Cover on the back on the scale, and paying attention to proper polarity, install three AAA batteries. Replace the Cover. Push the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on. If the Scale is not showing a reading of “0.00” or “0.0”, push the Tare Button to zero it out. Choose the unit of measure by pushing the Unit Button. Weight can be displayed in kilograms (kg), pounds (Lb) or ounces (oz). Hold the Scale by the Top Ring or connect it firmly to a hook or rope, and suspend the item being weighed from the Hook. A container can also be suspended from the Hook. Push the Tare button so that the weight of the container will not be taken into account, before placing the item to be weighed into the container. Read the Display to see the weight of the item. To prevent accidents, turn off the tool and remove the batteries after use. Clean, then store the tool indoors out of children’s reach. Maintenance And Servicing BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. When replacing batteries, dispose of old batteries according to type in a manner consistent with State, local, and Federal laws and regulations. After Use, clean external surfaces of the tool with clean, moist cloth. .
