Causes of Damage The stainless steel frying surface is tough and smooth, but will show signs of wear with time like any good pan. This, however, has no negative effect on its use. Slight yellow discoloration of the stainless steel frying surface is normal. 9 CAUTION Scratches or nicks on the frying surface Never cut with knives on the frying surface. Use the provided spatulas to turn the food. Don't bang on the frying surface with the spatulas. 9 CAUTION Foils and plastics Aluminum foil and plasticware will melt on the hot frying surface. Never warm up containers made of aluminum foil on the frying surface. Never place objects made of plastic or with plastic handles on the frying surface. 9 CAUTION Inappropriate accessories Never put the glass lid of the steamer on the teppan yaki. 9 CAUTION Malfunction Always set control knobs to the zero position when the appliance is not in operation.
