To deactivate the childproof lock, keep the ""child blocker"" switch pressed down several seconds until the main switch''s light comes on. The hob is now ready for use. In case of a power failure or voltage drop, the childproof lock will be automatically activated when switching on the appliance again. There are indications to show which burner each control knob operates. Fig. 1. Then turn the chosen burner control to the left (anticlockwise) to the required position. The flame will automatically and the hotplate indicator light will come on. If the main switch has been pushed but no burner ignited, the appliance will switch itself off automatically after 3 minutes. If the burner goes out (e.g. a draught) when in use, the appliance will switch the hotplate on again automatically. If this ignition is unsuccessful (e.g. as a result of boiled-over liquid on the burner), the flow of gas to this burner is interrupted and the hotplate indicator flashes. Turn the control knob to 0 and check whether the cause can be rectified using the table on page 16. The hob is equipped with an electronic safety system (thermocouple) that cuts off the gas when the burners are accidentally switched off. To ensure that this device is active, switch on the burner as usual. Every hotplate features a safety pilot! This means that if the flame ever goes out (e.g. is extinguished by boiled-over liquid), the flow of gas is interrupted. After finishing cooking, turn the controls to position 0 and disconnect the appliance using the main switch. The main switch indicator will be turned off. The appliance switches off automatically after 6 hours of operation. Turn all the control knobs to the 0 position and then you can turn the appliance on again. The progressive controls can be used to control Power levels the power needed, from minimum to maximum power.
