The residual heat indicator goes out when the hotplate has cooled sufficiently. The hob is equipped with overheating protection to protect the electronics. This switches all the burners off in the event of overheating and the “power on/off” indicators in all the burners and the main switch flash. Turn all control knobs to the position. W ait until the appliance has cooled down sufficiently and the power on/off indicator for the main switch has gone out. Now you can switch on the appliance as usual. The burner power on/off indicators stop flashing rapidly or switch over to the residual heat indicator (slow flashing for hotplates which were in use). To activate the childproof locks, press and hold the main switch for several seconds until the main switch indicator starts to flash. The hob cannot then be switched on. Activated childproof locks are indicated by the indicator in the main switch flashing slowly (approximately every 4 seconds). To deactivate the childproof locks, press and hold the main switch for several seconds until the main switch indicator comes on.
