These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. The product generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that the interference will not occur in a particular installation. If the product does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the product on or off, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the product and the receiver. Output Nozzle Power Switch Water Tank Power on / Mist Illuminator Base Rubber Valve Fig. 1 • Connect the product into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. • Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place unit on a level surface away from direct sunlight. Keep cord away from heated surfaces and areas where it could be walked on or tripped over. 2. Remove tank from base. Turn upside down and unscrew filling cap. Fill tank with clean, cool, distilled, or tap water. Water temperature should NEVER be too hot or too cold. Return tank to base and let it sit for a few minutes. NOTE: Be sure filling cap of the tank is tightened firmly. 3. Plug power cord into a 110-120V AC wall outlet only. Turn power switch to "On" ( I / II ) position. Power light will illuminate. 4. Always turn humidifier off ( O ) when water runs* out. Unit will continue to operate when tank is empty. * Humidifier will run up to 10 hours on Low; 6 hours on High. 5. Regular maintenance is required; refer to maintenance instructions. NOTE: Do not let water sit in tank for extended periods. This can encourage bacterial growth. TANK INSTALLATION Grasp the water tank with the curved side in the palm of your hand. With tank slightly above the water tray, press tank against the body of humidifier (toward the control knob). Slide the tank downward while keeping pressure against the body of the humidifier. Push the entire tank down firmly to seat it into place. FINDING THE IDEAL HUMIDITY LEVEL FOR YOUR HOME • Aim for 30% to 50% relative humidity. • Humidity will vary room to room, so adjust accordingly. • If windows and walls fog or frost, reduce mist intensity. • If a room is too humid, ventilate it by opening a door or window, and adjust mist intensity. High levels of humidity can allow moisture to collect and harm furniture and walls, especially wallpaper. It can also encourage bacterial and fungal growth. REGULAR CARE AND MAINTENANCE NOTE: Always unplug the unit before cleaning! When to Clean the Humidifier • Every day during humidification season. • Before storing. • After long periods of storage. • When cleaning inside of unit, keep water away from the air outlet. Exterior may be wiped with a damp cloth (except for electrical controls) when unit is off. Any part may be wiped with a damp cloth when unit is unplugged. Sanitizing the Water Tank • Use a mild bleach and water solution. Never use detergent. Cleaning the Base of Unit 1. Remove tank from base and empty reservoir. 2. Take the brush stored in base and clean off mineral deposits and debris from nebulizer and water sensor. Do not scrape or clean with tools that have metal parts. 3. Do not use detergent to clean any parts of the unit that contain water. Detergent film dissolved in the water supply can interfere with the output of the unit. 4. The nebulizer (ultrasonic transducer) is highly sensitive. Keep this important part clean and treat it gently. Do not touch the nebulizer while the unit is operating, burns could result. Do not touch the nebulizer with bare fingers. Any residue on the metal will reduce mist output. DAILY MAINTENANCE 1. Empty reservoir, and rinse, wipe clean, and dry with clean cloth or paper towel. 2. Refill reservoir to fill mark with cool, clean tap water. Do not overfill. 3. If moisture forms on walls or windows, lower humidity control settings or turn off humidifier. WEEKLY MAINTENANCE Removing Scale 1. Empty reservoir. Partially fill base of unit with 1-oz. of undiluted white vinegar. 2. Clean all interior surfaces with the soft brush provided. Wipe out reservoir to remove scale with soft damp cloth. 3.
