hp ultrium cleaning cartridge hp cleaning cartridge C7979A cartridge storage To prevent condensation and for long life, the cartridge should only be operated or stored as follows: Storage: 60°F to 90°F (16°C to 32°C) Operation: 50°F to 113°F (10°C to 45°C) 45°C 113°F Humidity: 20% to 80% Relative Humidity. 10°C 50°F archive storage 20% to 80% storage operation humidity Tapes intended for archiving data for up to 30 years should be stored in their plastic container and in room conditions of between 73°F – 41°F (23°C – 5°C) and 50%—10% relative humidity. Wet bulb temperature should not exceed 78°F (26°C). cartridge handling Handle the cartridge carefully. The cartridge may be damaged if it is dropped so always check for damage. Labels should only go on the front label space. Do not put any labels on the top, bottom, sides or rear of the cartridge. When not in use, the cartridge should be stored in its protective plastic container. Do not store the cartridge in direct sunlight, near magnetic fields or radio transmitters (i.e. mobile telephones). inserting the cartridge into an ultrium drive Insert the cartridge (with the arrow and hand grip visible) into the drive. Gently push the tape until the mechanism engages and the tape is taken into the machine. Be careful not to force the cartridge and allow the drive to take the tape at its own speed. Important—check the cartridge is not damaged in any way. Make sure the leader pin position is correct (see figure 2 below); if not, the cartridge is broken and should be discarded.
