• Enter a portion of the data between page refreshes and click Save to store the information. Enter
the rest of the data and enter Save.
• Change the refresh interval for the entire GUI to a larger value in Agent Options > User Interface.
The default value for the content pane is 60 seconds.
Important note—the iSCSI host entry in Command View EVA must be refreshed with new
WWPNs after a mpx100 FRU replacement.
The mpx100 FC port WWPNs are presented LUNs, much like any other FC host, by Command View via
the iSCSI host entry under the Command View EVA hosts folder. If an mpx100 is replaced the iSCSI host
entry must contain the WWPNs of the replacement to continue LUN presentation.
Workaround
Once a new mpx100 has been installed and restored with the full configuration of the replaced mpx100,
start Command View and click the Refresh but on in the properties page of the iSCSI Controller under
iSCSI devices. This will add the new mpx100 Fibre Channel port’s WWPNs to the existing iSCSI host
entry.
Important note—when creating a LUN on an EVA GL running VCS 3.028 to present to an
iscsi initiator, the LUN’s preferred path properties must be set to either Path (controller) A or
Path (controller) B.
When an EVA GL is running VCS 3.028 firmware, the controllers are configured in Active/Passive mode.
Because a LUN is not presented out of al EVA ports, you need to set a preferred path to ensure that the
LUN is available from a specific controller or from a known iSCSI EVA target port.
If the LUN is created with no preferences and if the initiator logs into the wrong EVA target port, the LUN
may not be available to the initiator. The initiator must log into the EVA target port that is presenting the
LUN.
Workaround
Ensure that the iSCSI initiator logs into the correct EVA target port:
• Presenting only that EVA target port to the initiator. If multiple EVA target ports are presented,
only log into the active EVA target port. Select from one of the following operating systems to
set the iqn name:
• For Windows—log in to the correct active target iqn name.
• For Linux—set the TargetName in /etc/iscsi.conf to the active target iqn name.
• Cross reference the preferred path EVA controller with the correct EVA target port by comparing
the preferred path controller’s Host Port WWPN with the last 16 characters of the EVA target
iqn name.
Date and time constraints
Important note—the mpx100 does not keep the current date and time after a reboot or
power restart if NTP is not set.
The mpx100 does not have the ability to save the date and time after a reboot or power cycle.
Workaround
Set the date and time after each reboot or power cycle, or set an NTP server address. If an NTP server is
used, the date and time is automatically set after a reboot or power cycle.
