For example, if the PC has IP 192.168.0.100 with netmask 255.255.255.0, and the TV has IP 192.168.0.200 with netmask 255.255.255.0, then they are both on same subnet. Conversely, if the PC has IP 192.168.1.100 with netmask 255.255.255.0, and the TV has IP 192.168.0.200 with netmask 255.255.255.0, then they are on DIFFERENT sub-nets. Unstable network connection • Unplug the Ethernet cables, and then connect them again. Chapter 9: Troubleshooting Home server setup problems The PC (“Home Server”) name is not displayed • The Ethernet cables are not connected properly or at all. Connect all cables (-Installation Guide). • The network setup on the PC is incorrect. Make sure both the PC and TV are using the same network type (DHCP/ manual) and have compatible network settings. • The networked PC does not have shared folders set up correctly. See “Set up file sharing on your PC” in Chapter 7 for details. • There are no master browsers on the network. To configure your networked PC to be the master browser of its subnet, refer to your operating system user guide or consult an IT professional. • Too many sharing devices are connected. You cannot connect more than 16 sharing devices at one time. The PC (“Home Server”) name is displayed but the shared folder(s) are not displayed. • The networked PC does not have shared folders set up correctly. See “Set up file sharing on your PC” in Chapter 7 for details. • The TV’s user name and password do not match the PC’s. Make sure the user name and password settings in the TV exactly match the settings in the networked PC. User names and passwords are generally case sensitive. DVD Troubleshooting Playback doesn’t start • The disc is reversed. Load the disc with the playback side facing backward. • No disc is loaded. Load the playable disc. • The disc may be dirty. Clean the disc. • The TV cannot play CD-ROMs, etc. Load the playable disc. No picture • TV selector is not set correctly. No sound • The analog audio output terminals on the TV do not output the sounds from the disc. Connect your digital audio system to the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminal on the TV. • Make sure the input selector of the amplifier is set properly. • The TV is in the special playback mode. Picture is distorted during fast reverse/forward playback • The picture will be distorted occasionally. Stopping playback, search, slow-motion play, or changing angles, etc. cannot be performed • Some discs may not perform certain functions. No surround sound • The setup may not match your stereo system. The TV or remote operation key is not functioning • Turn off the TV and unplug the AC power cord for several minutes, then replug it. Audio soundtrack and/or subtitle language is not changed when you play back a DVD • Multilingual language is not recorded on the DVD disc. No subtitle • Some discs have no subtitles. • Subtitles are cleared. Press b. Angle cannot be changed • Multi-angles are not recorded on the DVD discs. E appears on the screen • The function is prohibited with the TV or the disc. Chapter 9: Troubleshooting LED indications The blue and yellow LED lights on the TV front indicate the TV’s status, as described below. Note: If the TV loses A/C power (e.g., a power outage occurs or the power cord is unplugged), when power is restored, the yellow LED will blink while the TV is booting until the remote control is usable. This is normal and is not a sign of malfunction. TV front Blue LED Yellow LED LED Indication Condition Solution 1) Blue is ON (solid). The TV is operating properly. – 2) Yellow is ON (solid). The disc is in the disc slot. – 3) Yellow blinks three times. The TV is rebooting. Wait several seconds until the yellow LED stops blinking. 4) Blue blinks slowly. Abnormal operation of BUS line. Turn OFF the TV and unplug the power cord. Plug the power cord in again and turn ON the TV. 5) Blue blinks quickly. Power Protect Detection.
