IntroductionConnectingyour TV Using theRemote Control Setting upyour TV Using the TV’s Features AppendixIndex 33 Using the TV’s Features Using the TV’s Features Watching video input You can use the TV/VIDEO button on the remote control or TV to change the video input, which allows you to view a signal coming from another device connected to your TV (such as a VCR or DVD player). Select VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, VIDEO 3, or ColorStream, depending on which input jack is used for connecting the specific device (see “Connecting your TV” on page 5). The following on-screen display appears if you press the TV/VIDEO button on the remote control. If you press the TV/VIDEO button on the TV, a different menu is displayed (see “Using the TV/VIDEO button on the TV” on page 17). While the above menu is on the screen, either press the corresponding number button (0–4) or repeatedly press the TV/VIDEO button to cycle through the sources. The current source displays in purple. Selecting the video input labels You can change the video label that displays on the screen when the TV/VIDEO button is pressed. To label the video inputs: 1. Press MENU, and then press x or • until the CUSTOM menu appears. 2. Press y or z to highlight VIDEO LABEL. Press y or z to highlight the video source you want to label. 5. Press x or • to select the appropriate label for that source: VCR, DVD, DTV, SAT (satellite), or CBL (cable). To use the original label (“VIDEO 1,” for example), select “—.” 6. To exit the menu, press EXIT. To receive a color video OUT signal, a video or S-video IN jack must be used instead of the ColorStream connection. To view captions or text: 1. Tune the TV to the desired program or video. 2. Press C.CAPT to display the CUSTOM menu. CC will be highlighted. 3. Press x or • to display the closed caption modes.
