T9 and Hinglish DB mode 1. Press 2 to 9 to start entering a word. Press each key once for one letter. The word you are entering appears on the display. It may change with each keypress. Finish entering the word before editing or deleting any keystrokes. • T9 example: To enter “Hello” in T9 mode, press 4, 3, 5, 5, and 6. • Hinglish example: To enter “ namaste” in HG mode, press 6, 2, 6, 2, 7, 8 and 3. 2. When the word displays correctly, go to step 3. Otherwise, press 0 to display alternative word choices for the keys that you have pressed. 3. Press to insert a space and enter the next word. Installing the SIM card and battery 1. Remove the battery cover and insert the SIM card. Battery cover 2. Install the battery and reattach the cover. Battery ABC mode Press the keys labelled with the letter you want once for the first letter, twice for the second letter, and so on. For example, press 2 three times to enter “ C” and 5 two times to enter “K. ” Number mode Press the keys corresponding to the digits you want. Symbol mode Press the number keys corresponding to the symbol you want and press the OK soft key. You can press Up or Down to display more symbols. Tips for entering text • To move the cursor, press the Navigation keys. • To delete characters one by one, press C. To clear the display, press and hold C. • To insert a space between characters, press . Charging the battery 1. Plug the supplied travel adapter. With the triangle facing up 2. When charging is finished, unplug the adapter. Note: Do not remove the battery from the phone without unplugging the adapter first. Otherwise, the phone may be damaged. 2. If the time & date message appears, press the Yes soft key and set the time and date by the following onscreen insturctions. 3. Press and hold for more than two seconds to switch off the phone. Changing the display language 1. In Idle mode, press the OK soft key. 2. Select Phone settings > Language. 3. Select a language. Making a call 1. In Idle mode, enter an area code and phone number, and press . 2. Press to end the call. Note: In Speakerphone mode, a noisy environment will make it difficult to hear the person whom you are speaking with. In a noisy environment, it is better to use the normal phone mode for better audio performance. Menu map • To change case in T9 mode or ABC mode, press . • To enter punctuation marks in T9 mode or ABC mode, press 1. Using the Neopad Indian Mode To type a character in the Neopad Hindi mode: 1. Press a corresponding key to access the Virtual Keypad that contains a character you want. The character will appear in the Virtual Keypad at the bottom of display. If you want to know which key is assigned to which Hindi characters troup, see the table of “ List of the characters available in Hindi” . 2. Press the corresponding key 1 to 5 to input a character, or press the * key to toggle a wirtual keypad page to Virama. Note: When you enter a character, you will see the predicted word in the word prediction box at the bottom of the display. If you want to know about this input method, see the page 2. Otherwise, repeat above steps to enter other characters. Phone layout and key functions Dial key Makes and answers a call. In Idle mode, retrieves the most recent calls. Web access/ Confirm key In Idle mode, accesses the web browser. In Menu mode, selects the highlighted option or confirms input. Power/End key Turns the phone on or off when held down. Also ends a call. Cancel/Clear key Deletes characters from the display. Returns the display to the previous menu level. 4- way navigation keys In Idle mode, access your favourite menus directly. In Menu mode, scroll through menu options. Alphanumeric keys Voice mail server key In Idle mode, accesses your voice mail server when held down. Soft keys Perform functions indicated by the text above the key. Silent mode key .. Silent mode Answering a call 1. When the phone rings, press the Accept soft key or to answer a call. Press the Reject soft key or to reject the call. 2. Press to end the call. Changing a ringtone for calls 1. In Idle mode, press the OK soft key. 2. Select Sound settings > Ring tone. 3.
