PRECAUTIONS • Check, whether the electricity supply in your home sockets corresponds to the voltage specified on the housing of the unit. • To prevent fire or shock hazard do not expose the appliance to rain or moisture. • Never immerse the unit into water. To prevent fire or shock hazard do not use this unit near water for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool and such like places. Prevent the unit from dripping and splashing. • Do not overload wall outlets or extension cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. 3 • Place the unit in a way that you could easily pull out the plug from the socket if there are some damages. • For additional protection during lighting and in cases when you are not going to use the unit for a long time, unplug the unit. It will prevent the unit from failure during lighting and power surges. • To unplug the unit, hold it by the plug. Do not pull by the cord. • To avoid risk of electric shock do not open the body of the unit yourself. Do not repair and do not modify the unit. Technical maintenance must be performed only by qualified service personnel. • Install the unit in places with proper ventilation. • The unit should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other objects that produce heat. Note: Do not use new and old or batteries of different types together. If the operation of the unit is unstable, check the batteries and replace them if necessary. Remove the battery, if you are not going to use the unit for a long time. 1. Use the TUNING control to tune to the desired station. 6. Use the VOL control to set the required volume level. Note: You can use the tone control: while listening to the news, set the control to the LOW position, while listening to music - to the HI position. For better reception of FM or SW stations, fully extend the antenna and direct it at the required angle. For reception of MW stations the unit is equipped with a built-in antenna, for better reception of MW stations, try different variants of the unit location.
