2. Rotate the sweeper down, keeping the upper hook engaged with the hanging recess, and position the locating recess over the lower boss of the charger bracket, as shown in Figure 4. 3. Plug the charger cord into any standard 120 volt, 60Hz outlet. The red LED should be glowing. Charging will begin immediately and continue at a slow trickle rate until you remove the sweeper from the bracket. 4. Keep on charge when not in use for maximum battery life. SWITCH The switch can be operated by moving the lever from side to side. The “ON” and “OFF” positions are marked on the housing as shown in Figure 1A & 1B. CAUTION: DO NOT POINT TOOL DISCHARGE AT SELF OR BYSTANDERS. Safety glasses are available at extra cost at your local Black & Decker Service Center or authorized service facility. • DO NOT place outlet of sweeper near eyes or ears when operating. • STORE IDLE TOOLS. When not in use, the unit should be stored in a dry, high or locked-up place - out of reach of children. • DON'T OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. • MAINTAIN TOOL WITH CARE. Keep tool clean for best and safest performance. Follow instructions for proper maintenance. • DO NOT attempt to repair the sweeper. To assure product safety and reliability, repairs, maintenance, and adjustments should be performed by Black & Decker service centers or authorized service centers, always using Black & Decker replacement parts. • DO NOT operate sweeper in a gaseous or explosive atmosphere. Motors in these tools normally spark, and the sparks might ignite fumes. • AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS – Do not use electric tools in damp or wet locations. Don’t use the tool in the rain. • STAY ALERT – Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate tool when you are tired. • USE THE RIGHT TOOL – Do not use this tool for any job except that for which it is intended. • USE EXTRA CARE when cleaning on stairs. • DO NOT allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. Not recommended for use by children. • DO NOT attempt to clear clogs from tool without first switching unit off. • USE ONLY as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments. • DO NOT put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and everything that may reduce air flow. • KEEP hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. • DO NOT immerse any part of the tool in liquid. • DO NOT handle plug or tool with wet hands. • KEEP CHILDREN, BYSTANDERS AND ANIMALS AWAY from the work area a minimum of 30 feet (10 meters) when starting or operating the tool. • INSPECT THE AREA before using the tool. Remove all debris and hard objects such as rocks, glass, wire, etc. that can ricochet, be thrown, or otherwise cause injury or damage during operation. • USE ONLY charger supplied by the manufacture to recharge.
