MESSAGE light -Turns ON when the TAM is on. Flashes when you have new TAM messages. UP-DOWN (CDS) Buttons (MENU) Button -To access the caller - Press to enter Options Menudisplay records, and to set the Date, Time,Screento scroll through lists Contrast, phone/TAM settings. and options. Ringer light - This flashes when the phone is ringing for an incoming call. M1, M2, M3 one-Touch Memory Buttons (PHONEBOOK) Button -Press to access the Phonebook records. Microphone -For speakerphone use and answering machine OGM & Memo recording. OGM/ (REWIND) Button -Press and hold to record your outgoing messages. Press during message playback to repeat the current message or to go backto the previous message(s). (EXIT)/ (ANSWER ON/OFF) Button - Press to stop recording orplayback. Press and hold to switch the answering maching ON or OFF. With TAM ON is standby mode, press to select OGM1 or OGM2. Important: SPEAKER Volume control -Used to adjust the volume level of the Speakerphone. (REDIAL)/ P (PAUSE) Button -Press to access the LNR lists when in standby mode. Press toinsert a pause when dialing. R (RECALL) Button -You may need this function if your phone is connected to a PBX, or ifyou use BT Calling Features. (MUTE) / STO(Store) Button - Press during a call to mute the microphone or mouthpiece. Press to store the (M1, M2 and M3)one touch memory dialing buttons SPEAKERPHONE Button - Press to make, answer, or end a call using the speakerphone. (PLAY/PAUSE) Button -Press to play back messages and memos. Press to pause playing of a memo or message. MEMO/ (SKIP) Button -Press and hold to record a memo. Locating the Base unit The Base unit should be placed on a level surface, in a position where: • the mains adapter plug will reach an easily accessible 230-V AC switch mains supply socket -never try to lengthen the mains power cable. • the telephone line cable will reach your telephone line socket or extension socket. • it is not close to a sink, bath or shower, or anywhere else where it might get wet. • it is not close to other electrical equipment - fridges, washing machines, microwave ovens, TVs, fluorescent lights, etc. 2. Desk/Wall mount installation 5 To place the Spirit 710 on a desk, connect the stand to the bottom of the phone in the slots near the rear of the base as shown below. Desk Mount Insert the rigid clips of the stand into the slots on the bottom of the phone (nearer the centre of the base). Press down firmly until the flexible clips clicks into place. To remove the stand, (1) pinch the flexible clips, (2) pull back the stand, and then (3) slide up and forward (3) as shown below. To place the Spirit 710 on a wall, connect the stand to the bottom of the phone in the slots near the front of the base as shown below.
