Description

Unable to remove migration
When a migration fails due to limited space on the destination system, the migration
will not be able to be removed. See the example of the error:

715
CPG space allocation error
The HP 3PAR Online Import Utility gives no warning or error for migrating into a CPG
with a growth limit that is not big enough for LUNs. When a CPG does not have
enough space for the volume being migrated, there is no error message and migration
is not prevented from starting.
For example: Initiating migration of a LUN that is larger than 8 GB to a CPG with an
8 GB growth limit, the createmigration and startmigration commands will
both indicate “Success” but viewing the CPG from the HP 3PAR Management Console
will show the CPG state as “Failed”.
719
Migration will proceed after
The HP 3PAR Online Import Utility reports the importvv command as “Failed,” but
“Failed” message
the migration will still proceed. The HP 3PAR Online Import Utility does not check for
available space before starting a migration.
Conditions: An 11 TB LUN existed in a CPG and an attempt was made to import two
6 TB virtual volumes into the CPG.
Behavior: The HP 3PAR Online Import Utility appeared to accept the task without issue.
The migration proceeded normally but failed after several hours (>11).
734
Unable to add source host if
Cannot add source to 3PAR destination when it already exists with a different WWN.
WWN already exists on
The createmigration command adds the host being migrated to the destination
destination
HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system. If the host already exists with the same name and
WWN, then you can specify the same host for migration and it gets reused. However,
if the host specified for migration already exists on the destination 3PAR system without
a full match (i.e. only name or WWN match), the HP 3PAR Online Import Utility reports
an error that the host already exists on the destination HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage
system.
775
createmigration command The createmigration command hangs due to SMI-S communications. This issue
hangs
was found with SMI-S Provider running on a Windows 2008 R2 server. Problem
symptom is that the createmigration command never returns. To verify that this
is an SMI-S Provider issue, you can:
1. Log into the SMI-S provider server
2. Run testsmisprovider.exe
3. Run the refsys command (the refsys command normally returns after
approximately 30 seconds on a SMI-S system that is connected to three hosts)
4. If this error appears, then the issue is verified:
Error: connection timed out
In 1200.000908 Seconds
Workaround: Restart SMI-S Provider
