9. Before carr ying out any cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the appliance from the mains by removing the plug. 10. Should the safety fuse blow or stop working correctly, switch the appliance off. Do not force it to operate. For any repair, take it to an authorised Ser vice Centre. 11. To avoid dangerous overheating, we recommend unwinding the power cord completely during use and disconnecting the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use. 12. If the supply cord is damaged, the control unit must be replaced by either the manufacturer or ser vice agent in order to avoid a hazardous situation. 13. Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage, if there are any such signs or if the appliance has been improperly used, return it to the supplier prior to any further use. 14. Should you decide to no longer use this appliance, then make it non functional by cutting off the power cord after removing the plug from the socket. We also recommend making all potentially dangerous parts of the appliance harmless, particularly for children who might be tempted to play with the overblanket. 15. The underblanket is not to be used with the sick, children or those who are insensitive to heat. The electric underblanket should not be used by children unless the control has been switched on and set by the parent or guardian or the child has been shown how to use the device correctly. 16. It is recommended that people with pacemakers do not use the heated bedding for all-night use. The appliance may be used to preheat the bed but should then be switched off and un-plugged from the socket before going to the bed. 17. Do not use on fold-up beds. If it is used on a fold-up bed, make sure that neither the blanket or cable become trapped or caught up in it. 18. Only use the electric underblanket between the mattress and the bottom sheet, under no circumstance should it be placed over someone lying in bed. The underblanket is not to be used with the sick, children or those who are insensitive to heat. Do not use the underblanket for children unless supervised by an adult. 19. FITTING AND SETTING INSTRUCTIONS Fitting the underblanket (Fig. 1) Your electric blanket must ONLY be used as an under- blanket, i.e. UNDERNEATH the person in the bed. 1. Lay the underblanket directly on top of the mattress, making sure it does not go under the pillows. Ensure that it is smoothly spread out. 2. Place the bottom sheet on top of the underblanket and make the bed as usual with the top sheet and covers. 3. The connector or connections must be on the top face at the foot of the bed. 4. Do not fold or bend any of the wired areas, the connector or the control cable, as this may activate the underblanket’s safety system against overheating. P...
