SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS USING YOUR ICED TEA MAKER This Iced Tea Maker is designed to brew 2 quarts of great tasting Iced Tea, sweetened or unsweetened. The Iced Tea Maker brews 1 quart of extra strength tea, increasing in volume to 2 quarts when added to the ice or cold water in the pitcher during the brewing cycle. The glass pitcher holds 2.5 quarts, allowing additional ice or water to be added after the brewing process is completed, if desired. Before using for the first time: Remove the filter, brew basket, and sweetener chamber. Rinse the filter in warm water only. Washing the filter with soap is optional as any residue my affect the taste of your tea. Wash the brew basket, sweetener chamber, and pitcher in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Note: To remove any manufacturing residuals in the appliance, we recommend running at least one full pitcher of water only through the appliance. Follow the directions in the “TO MAKE TEA” section of this manual but do not use any tea leaves or bags. • A small amount of smoke and/or odor may occur upon heating due to the release of manufacturing oils – this is normal. • Some minor expansion/contraction sounds may occur during heating and cooling – this is normal. Place appliance on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface, away from any edge. 2. Fill the pitcher with fresh, cold water to the water level marking. Lift the reservoir lid and pour the water into the water reservoir. Note: Do not fill above the “MAX” fill marking.
