Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. 6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Do not allow kettle to boil dry. 15. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit. To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit with the kettle. The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the kettle. Power Switch I = ON O = OFF Using Your Electric Kettle BEFORE FIRST USE: Fill kettle to MAX indicator on water level window and bring to a boil until kettle shuts off automatically. Discard water and repeat. Rinse out kettle 2 or 3 times. The kettle is now ready for use. 1. Remove from power base before filling. 2. Fill kettle with required amount of water. Ensure that water level is between MIN and MAX on the water level indicator. If using the mesh filter, it must be in place. 3. After use, unplug kettle and empty. NOTE: Use water only in the kettle. If used for foods or beverage such as tea or coffee, the warranty will be voided. wWARNING Burn Hazard If kettle is overfilled, boiling water may spit out of the spout.
