Do not use detergents or chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. • Unplug and disconnect external antennas during lightning storms. • Do not remove cover [or back]. • Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. ENVIRONMENT Disposal According to the European Directive 2002/96/EC all electrical and electronic products must be collected separately by a local collection system. Please act according to your local rules and do not dispose of your old products with your normal household waste. MICROLINK FR160 OWNER’S MANUAL POWER SOURCES 1. Rechargeable battery pack (included). 2. AC adapter/charger (not included). 3. Solar power adapter. CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK • Turn the crank for about 90 seconds. This will result in 30-40 minutes of low volume play. • Place the unit directly in sunlight. The solar power adapter on the top of the unit charges it automatically. About 8-10 hours in the sun will allow about 3-5 hours of play. CELL PHONE CRANK CHARGING Because cell phone batteries vary in their current ratings, we cannot specify charging rates or usage time. 10 to 15 minutes of cranking may result in 1 or more minutes of talk-time. 1. Set POWER/VOLUME control to OFF position. 2. Select CELL with the slide switch. 3. Plug the cell phone charging cord into the USB Phone Charge socket. 4. Plug other end of your USB socket into the cell phone’s charging socket. 5. Rotate the dynamo crank about 2 turns per second. TURNING THE RADIO ON AND OFF Turn it on with the ON/OFF/VOLUME control. To turn it off, set the ON/OFF/VOLUME control to OFF. ADJUSTING THE VOLUME Set VOLUME control to the desired level. MICROLINK FR160 OWNER’S MANUAL TUNING-IN STATIONS 1. Select AM, FM or WB (weather band) channel 1-7 with the band selector switch. For FM and WB, fully extend the telescopic antenna. When using only AM the antenna need not be extended. 2. Adjust the volume with the VOLUME control. 3. Tune stations with the TUNE knob, or tune in WB with the 7-position switch. USING THE LIGHT Turn on the light on and off with the light switch on the top of the unit. EARPHONE JACK Plug in earphones (not included). Sound is heard from both sides in monaural. MICROLINK FR160 OWNER’S MANUAL WARRANTY – If your product is still in warranty and the Eton service representative determines that warranty service is needed, a return authorization will be issued and instructions for shipment to an authorized warranty repair facility. Do Not ship your radio back without obtaining the return authorization number. NON-WARRANTY – If your product is no longer under warranty and requires service our technical staff will refer you to the nearest repair facility that will be able to best handle the repair.
