The @ indicator lights up for 10 seconds. The range is locked. To turn off: press and hold the @ symbol for approx. 4 seconds. The lock is now deactivated. Activating and deactivating the childprooflock With this function, the childproof lock automatically activates when a hob is switched off. Activating and deactivating See the “Basic Settings" section. Flexible zone This may be used as one complete hotplate or two individual hotplates depending on the actual cooking needs. Operation. It consists of several independently controlled inductors. When the zone is working, those inductors that are not covered by cookware are automatically turned off. Advice on using cookware To ensure that the cookware is detected and heat is distributed evenly, correctly centre the cookware: ¦ in the upper or lower part of the flexible zone, when the cookware is smaller than 13 cm (see diagram) ¦ or in one of the two halves of the flexible zone, when the cookware is larger than 13 cm ( see diagram) . When using cookware of a different size or made of a different material, noise and vibrations that do not affect the correct working of the zone may occur. Consisting of two independent zones The flexible zone can be used normally as two independent hotplates. How to activate See “ adjusting the hotplate“ section. As one hotplate To use the entire hotplate with all individual zones. How to activate The hob must be turned on. 1. Position the pan and, using the [ ] symbol, select one of the two hotplates corresponding to the flexible hotplate. Then select the required power level. 2. Press the X symbol. The • indicator lights up. The flexible hotplate has been switched on. The power level is displayed on one or both of the indicators for the hotplates corresponding to the flexible hotplates, depending on the location and size of the pan. 3. To change the power level: Select the flexible hotplate using one of the [ ] symbols corresponding to the hotplate and change the power level using the + or - symbols. To add another pan Position the pan and then press the X symbol. The indicator lights up for approximately 3 seconds during the search and detection of a new pan. The previously selected power level is maintained. To change this, press the + or - symbol. To deactivate press the u symbol. 0 appears on the display. The flexible hotplate has been switched off. The hotplates can be used independently. Powerboost function The Powerboost function can be used to heat large amounts of water more quickly than the power level S. Use limitations This function may be used for all hotplates, provided that the other hotplate in the same group is not turned on. ( See figure) Otherwise, the display for the selected hotplate will flash › and S; then it will automatically set the power level S. In Group 2, the Powerboost function may be activated at the same time for all hotplates. ( see diagram) # . # . # . To activate 1. Select the power level S. 2. Press the + symbol. On the hotplate, the › indicator will appear. You have now activated the function To switch off the hotplate Press the - symbol. The › indicator is no longer displayed and the hotplate returns to power level S. The Powerboost function has been deactivated. Note: In certain circumstances, the Powerboost function may turn off automatically in order to protect the electronic components inside the hob. Note: The greatest amount of power supplied in the flexible zone is obtained by placing a pan in the centre of the zone, as indicated in the Flexible zone chapter. Time programming function This function may be used in two different ways: ¦ to automatically switch off a hotplate. ¦ as a timer. Turning off a hotplate automatically Enter the cooking time for the required hotplate. The hotplate turns off automatically once the time has elapsed. How to program The hob must be switched on. 1. Select the required hotplate and power level. Then press the 0 symbol. The ‹‹ indicator lights up on the time program function display. The x indicator lights up on the selected hotplate. 2. Set the time using the + or - symbols. + symbol: 30 minutes. - symbol: 10 minutes. After a few seconds, the cooking time begins to count down. The shortest cooking time will show on the display. Once the time has elapsed The hotplate switches off. A warning signal sounds. ‹ appears on the hotplate and ‹‹ appears for 10 seconds on the time program function display. The x indicator flashes. Pressing the 0 symbol turns off the indicators and stops the beep. Changing or cancelling the time Select the hotplate and press the 0 symbol. Change the cooking time using the + or - symbols, or set to ‹‹ . Notes ¦ Select a hotplate to check the remaining cooking time. ¦ Any cooking time can be programmed for up to 99 minutes. The timer The timer can be set for periods of up to 99 minutes. It is independent of the other settings. This function does not automatically switch off a hotplate. How to program 1.
