Before you use your appliance for the first time, it is necessary to set the current time on the electronic timer. . Preliminary cleaning: 1. Clean the appliance exterior with a soft moistened cloth. 2. Clean the oven and the accessories with a hot detergent solution. . Please observe the operating instructions furnished with the hob. Initial burn-in: 1. Heat the empty oven for approx. 30 minutes. Select top and bottom heat at a setting of 240° C. During the initial burn-in phase, please open the kitchen windows to dissipate unpleasant odours. 2. Operate cast-iron hotplates, without placing utensils on them, on the highest heat setting for about 1 to 2 minutes. The odour rising from the hotplates is caused by the burning-in of the corrosion protection, and occurs only during the initial use. Cooking Operating the hotplates . The hotplates and the oven functions can be locked (see ”Safety devices” section). This feature prevents the cooker from being unintentionally switched on, e.g. by children. . Important: Separate operating instructions are enclosed with the hob. These operating instructions contain important information concerning operation of the hob. Please read thoroughly before using the hob for the first time. The heat setting can only be selected while the arrows above the rotary control are flashing. Rapid boil mode reaches the preselected heat setting quickly and at maximum power. Electronic rapid boil function 1. Press the button for the desired hotplate. 2. When the „U” goes out, the electronic automatic rapid boil control is complete and the hotplate switches back to the simmer setting (e.g. }•). . To stop the electronic rapid boil function, switch off the hotplate. Dual-circuit cooking zones . The dual-circuit cooking zones depend on the connected hob. Important: Please read the operating instructions for your hob. . The left front and right rear dual-circuit cooking zones are switched on via the cooker. . The left rear and right front dual-circuit cooking zones are switched on via the hob. Switching on the dual circuit 1. Press the button for the desired hotplate. 2. Select the desired heat setting. 3. Press the o button. . To stop dual-circuit cooking, switch off the corresponding hotplate. Manual rapid boil mode 1. Press the button for the desired hotplate. 2. Turn the rapid boil switch to Setting O. 3. When the boiling point has been reached, press the corresponding button and switch back to the desired simmer setting with the rotary control.
