[.........35mm.......] =[COOLPIX P1/P2.35mm.......(36~126mm)] x [......................] Thank you for purchasing the Nikon Fieldscope Digital Camera Bracket for COOLPIX P1/P2. Use of your digital camera in combination with a Fieldscope enables you to take super-telephoto digital pictures. Items supplied • Bracket x 1 • Cable release (50cm) x 1 • Bracket ring FSBR-3 x 1 • Non-skid pad x 2 (spare included) *Bracket ring FSBR-3 cannot be used with the FSB-1, -1A, -2. Nomenclature 1 Non-skid pad 2 Cable release socket 3 Bracket 4 Fixing screw 5 Camera lens socket 6 Eyepiece socket 7 Camera fixing screw 8 Bracket ring Attaching the Fieldscope to the digital camera 1. Remove the sheet from the adhesive side of the non-skid pad, and affix the pad to the shutter release button of the COOLPIX P1/P2. 2. Put the lens of the camera into the camera lens socket, and while keeping the camera body pressed against the socket, tighten the camera fixing screw to secure it in place. Note: Before attaching/detaching camera, turn the camera's power off. 3. Screw the cable release into the cable release socket. 4. With the 16x/24x/30x Wide DS Eyepiece, attach the bracket ring FSBR-3 to the bracket FSB-3 by pressing the bracket ring, with the black rubber side facing the bracket, until it snaps into place. With other eyepieces, remove the bracket ring. The bracket ring can be removed by inserting a finger in the ring and pulling. (It may be a little difficult due to resistance from the rubber.) 5. Put the eyepiece attached to the Fieldscope into the eyepiece socket and tighten the fixing screw to secure it in place while pressing the bracket against the eyepiece. 6. Optional Fieldscope Digital Camera Bracket Sight-Stay FSBS-1 can be attached. Camera setting Set for "P" (Programmed) or "A" (Aperture-Priority) mode. With "Auto" mode, some settings cannot be used. Use the following camera settings. Keep other settings at their original default positions. • With [MENU] Image size 8M/5M (P1/P2) Image quality FINE Metering Center-Weighted Continuous Continuous H AF area mode Manual Auto-focus mode S-AF Single AF (default setting) Sensitivity (ISO) 50 • With [SET UP] AUTO OFF 5 minutes AF assist OFF Setting for shooting •Focusing Set for single focusing. Focus first using the controls on the Fieldscope, then make fine adjustments with the camera's AF function. • Shooting mode Set for "P" (Programmed) or "A" (Aperture-Priority) mode. • Shooting Use cable release. Depress the cable release gently. • Camera zoom setting When shooting with the zoom at the wide-angle setting, shade will appear in the four corners of the image depending on the type of eyepiece in use, giving it a rounded appearance.
