Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. 2. Remove the Battery Lid (1B). 3. Install a 9-volt alkaline battery (1C). 4. Replace the Battery Lid (1D). 5. Reinstall the screws. Do not over-tighten the screws. Replacement 9-volt alkaline batteries can be found at many retailers. 1A 1B 1C To Change the Mode Read all the steps before attempting to change the mode. 1. With the battery installed, press the Mode Button and release it when the Receiver Indicator Light lights up (1E). 2. The Receiver Indicator Light will emit a number of flashes representing the mode setting (1F). 3. Change the mode by pressing and releasing the Mode Button within 5 seconds of the previous flashes. 1D 1E 1F Prepare the Receiver Collar Your Receiver Collar comes with short Contact Points installed. Use the long Contact Points for pets with long or thick hair. Using the Test Light Tool, tighten the Contact Points one-quarter to one-half turn beyond finger tight (1A). Check the tightness weekly. The modes cycle from 1 to 5. Pushing the Mode Button while the Receiver Collar is on Mode 5 will cause the Receiver Collar to revert to Mode 1. Refer to the Function and Response Table to choose the Mode that best fits your pet. The Receiver Collar is equipped to automatically increase the level of Static Correction the longer your pet remains in the Static Correction Zone if the collar is set at Mode 2 or above. The Receiver Indicator Light acts as a low battery indicator, flashing every 4 to 5 seconds when battery replacement is required. Mode 1 • When your dog reaches the warning zone, the collar will emit a warning tone. • If he continues to the correction zone or lingers in the warning zone for 2 seconds, the collar will emit a simultaneous correction tone and vibration. Mode 2 • When your dog reaches the warning zone, the collar will emit a warning tone, then correction tone and vibration. • If he continues to the correction zone or lingers in the warning zone for 2 seconds, the collar will emit a correction tone and a level 1 static correction. • If the dog stays in the area he will receive progressively stronger static corrections up to Level 2. Mode 3 • When your dog reaches the warning zone, the collar will emit a warning tone. • If he continues to the correction zone or lingers in the warning zone for 2 seconds, the collar will emit a correction tone and a level 1 static correction. • If the dog stays in the correction zone, he will receive progressively stronger static corrections up to Level 5. Mode 4 • When your dog reaches the warning zone, the collar will emit a warning tone. • If he continues to the correction zone or lingers in the warning zone for 2 seconds, the collar will emit a correction tone and a level 5 static correction. Mode 5 • When your dog reaches the warning zone, the collar will emit a warning tone. • If he continues to the correction zone or lingers in the warning zone for 2 seconds, the collar will emit a correction tone. Function and Response Table Indicator Light Response Mode Receiver Collar Function Temperament of Pet 1 Flash 1 Tone and Vibration Timid 2 Flashes 2 Tone, Vibration and Static Correction (Low) Timid or Average 3 Flashes 3 Tone and Static Correction (Medium) Average 4 Flashes 4 Tone and Static Correction (High) Average or High Energy 5 Flashes 5 Tone only Timid Flashes once every 4-5 seconds Low Battery Note: Begin training with Mode 3 and only increase if your pet does not respond to the Static Correction. Fit the Receiver Collar Important: The proper fit and placement of your Receiver Collar is important for effective training. The Contact Points must have direct contact with your pet’s skin on the underside of his neck. To ensure a proper fit, please follow these steps: 1. Make sure that the battery is not installed in the Receiver Collar. 2. Start with your pet standing comfortably (2A). 3. Centre the Contact Points underneath your pet’s neck, touching the skin. I...
