Your Crate amplifier gives you more performance features than ever before; features that you, the musician, have asked for. Your Crate amplifier is an American product, manufactured at our factory in St. Louis, Missouri. Only the finest available components and materials are used in the manufacture of each amplifier. All Crate amplifiers are subject to seven or more inspection and testing steps to assure you of a high quality product. The final test for each amp is conducted by a trained musician with the instrument the amp was designed for. Any unit that does not meet the standards of his discriminating ear will not be passed. Since all Crate products are designed, developed, and manufactured through the cooperative efforts of engineers and professional musicians, the end result is a product that responds to the musician's audio requirements, and a product that will serve your needs for years to come. operation INPUT H @ 0 10 k + 15db Odb v VOLUME J EQUALIZATION DMOmOMO. 0 10 LOW 0 10 LOW MID 0 10 HIGH MID 0 10 HIGH HEAD PHONES Bin XL #oO LINE OUT POWER i tit! If your bass requires very low settings of the VOLUIWE control (3) when using this input, you should use the OdB input (2|. 2} ©dlB OMPUTs This input should be used if your bass has a preamp, has high output pickups, or if your playing style is very dynamic and hard. 38 VOLUME CONTROLS This control sets the output sound level. Settings near maximum will tend to give a compressed sound, as the internal compressor/limiter will begin to oper- ate. If this is not desired, reduce the setting of the VOLUME control. $j) H©W CONTROL; This control has most effect on fundamental bass notes. 5} LOW 1VIID COIMTTOLs This control has most effect on the harmonics of low bass notes. 6) HIGH MID CONTROL: The HIGH MID knob affects the middle harmonics. It can add "edge" if boosted, and, when reduced, control excessive buildup of midrange sound which may cause an undesirable "nasal" type of tone. 7) HIGH CONTROL: This knob affects high harmonics. When boosted, it will accentuate the "pops" and "clicks" of modern dynamic playing styles. When turned down, a smoother more traditional sound will result. 8) HEADPHONE JACK: Unpowered headphones may be plugged into this jack. The speaker is automatically disconnected when headphones are plugged in. 9) LINE OUT JACK: This is an unbalanced, high impedance output for recording, or connecting additional amplifiers. The speaker is not disconnected by this jack. 10) POWER INDICATOR: The amplifier is on whenever this indicator is lit. % i J POWER SWDTCH: Press the right side of this power switch to turn the unit on, press the left side to turn off. REAR PANEL FEATURES POWER CORO: Your B10XL is equipped with a heavy-duty grounded three-wire power cord. Be sure this cord is properly plugged into a safely wired grounded 120 volt, 60hz AC power outlet before use. (If your B1OXL was purchased outside the United States, refer to the rear panel for power ratings). For your safety, never attempt to defeat the ground connection on this cord.
