To make the best use of the MT-2, please read the instructions carefully. #The MT-2 is compact yet creates powerful effect pedal which, through the use of high-level gam circuits, creates heavy distortion and sustain effects. ®The MT-2 includes a three-band equalizer; Low, Middle and High. The Middle band EQ is of the parametric type. ITIetal Zone fTlT-2 PANEL DESCRIPTION' BOSS PSA-120, 220 o voltage in your country ; o AC Adaptor Jack Connect an AC adaptor 240 depending on the lin to this ¡ack. * Be sure to use a BOSS AC adaptor PSA-120,220 or 240. Use of any other type may cause damage or malfunction. 0 Check Indicator This LED lights when the effect is turned on, and therefore can be used as an effect on/off indicator. * The Check Indicator also serves as battery check. When the LED becomes dim or does not light at all, battery replacement is required. © Level Control Knob This knob adjusts the volume of the effect sound. Set this knob so that there will be no difference in volume between the effect and straight sounds. * No sound will be heard when this knob is rotated completely counterclockwise. 0 High Level Control Knob This knob controls the tone of the effect sound at higher frequencies. Rotating the knob clockwise boosts the higher frequencies, while rotating tt counterclockwise cuts the higher frequencies. Higher frequencies have a variable range of ± 15 cIB. 0 Low Level Control Knob This knob controls the tone of the effect sound at lower frequencies. Rotating the knob clockwise boosts the lower frequencies, while rotating it counterclockwise cuts the lower frequencies. The lower frequencies have a variable range of ± 15 dB. 0 Output Jack Connect an amplifier or other effect unit to this O Pedal Switch Pressing the pedal turns the effect < 0 Thumb Screw Loosen the screw to open the cover for battery replacement, ( For a detailed explanation of battery replacement, see "BATTERY REPLACEMENT”. ) * Do not remove the screw from the cover, or you may loose it. @ Distortion Control Knob This knob controls the intensity of the distortion effect. Rotating the knob clockwise increases the distortion level. *lf you set this knob too high, the noise will increase and oscillation may occur. (Jj) Middle Level Control Knob This knob boosts or cuts the frequency you set with the Middle Frequency Control Knob fl) . Rotating the knob clockwise boosts the level of the middle frequencies, while rotating it counterclockwise cuts the level of the middle frequencies. (D Middle Frequency Control Knob This knob sets the frequency of the middle range { 200Hz to 5kHz ). Rotating the knob clockwise raises the frequency. Rotating it counterclockwise lowers the frequency, *When the Middle Level Control Knob is set to the center position, the Middle Frequency Control Knob does not affect the sound. ® Input Jack Connect an electric or electronic musical instrument ( such as an electric guitar ) to this jack. * Inserting a plug into this ¡ack will automatically switch the unit on. Be sure to disconnect the plug from this |ack when the unit is not being used. CONNECTIONS' Connect the AC Adaptor AC Adaptor: BOSS PSA-120, 220 or 240 (option) OUTPUT metal Zone mT-2 * Inserting a plug into the Input Jack will automatically switch the unit on. * Before connecting or disconnecting a plug, make sure that the volume of the amplifier is turned down. ■ OPERATION i Make all the necessary connections, then set the controls on the panel as shown beiow. 2) Press the Pedal Switch Q . Make Check Indicator lights. Adjust the level oi distortion using the Distortion Control Knob 0 . Rotating the knob clockwise increases the distortion level white rotating it counterclockwise decreases it. it this knob is set too high, the noise will increase and osciifation may occur.
