ENGLISH MAX®126 Bass Amplifier Thank you for selecting the Peavey MAX 126 bass guitar amplifier. The MAX 126 offers great sound in a compact package. Its design makes it a perfect practice amplifier or for small jam sessions. The built-in tape/CD jack and headphone input will allow you to jam along with your favorite tunes without bummin’ out your family or neighbors, too! Before you begin to play through your amplifier, it is very important to ensure the product has the proper AC line voltage supplied. You can find the proper voltage for your amp printed next to the AC line (power) cord on the rear panel of the unit. Each product feature is numbered. Refer to the front panel diagram in this manual to locate the particular features next to their number. Please read this guide carefully to ensure your personal safety as well as the safety of your amplifier. FEATURES: • Built-in headphone connection • Vintage control with patented Peavey TransTube® circuitry (for vintage tube bass amp sound) and on/off switch • Gain control • Tape/CD input connection • High and low equalization • 6.5” speaker 15 816 (1) Input Jack Plug your bass into this 1/4" jack. Connect your bass prior to turning on the power switch. (2) Vintage This control introduces patented Peavey TransTube® circuitry, with an EQ curve that simulates the sound of a vintage tube bass amp. Increase the amount of “tube” distortion/compression by turning the knob clockwise. (3) Vintage On/Off This push button switch allows you to turn the Vintage control on and off. (4) Gain This control sets the overall volume level of the MAX 126. (5) High EQ This control allows you to dial in high frequencies or “treble” sounds for your bass. (6) Low EQ This control adds bottom end to your sound. Use this control for low sounds or to add more “oomph” to your bass. (7) Tape/CD Input This standard 1/4" input jack allows you to connect a tape or CD player to your MAX 126 and play along. Front Panel POWER 5 0 10 HIGH LOW 5 0 10 5 0 10 INPUT GAIN 5 0 10 VINTAGE INPUT EQUALIZATION MAX 126 BASS AMPLIFICATION ON 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 (8) Heeaaddpphhoonnee IInnppuutt This standard 1/4" input jack allows you to connect standard headphones to the MAX® 126. Turn the Vintage and Gain controls all the way down before using headphones. Slowly turn up the volume and find a comfortable listening level. Remember, starting out on the bass with hearing damage would not be much fun! When headphones are connected to the MAX 126‚ the speaker is automatically turned off. (9) Power LED This LED illuminates when power is supplied to the MAX 126. (10) Power Switch This two-way rocker switch applies power to the unit when placed in the ON position.
