Read it carefully and keep it handy for future reference. ■IMPOTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS * Keep the appliance away from electrical motors, neon signs, fluorescent light fixtures, and other sources of electrical noise. * Always reduce the volume to zero before connecting or disconnecting the power. Otherwise, the high volume might overload the speaker and damage it. * Connect the cable to an instrument and then to the amplifier. Disconnect in the reverse order. * Protect the appliance from physical shocks and impact. Never move it while it is in operation. * Do not move the appliance while its switch is turned on. * Clean the appliance with a soft cloth, a mild detergent, and lukewarm water. AMPLIFIER SECTION (D GAIN 1 knob : controls the character of the distortion. ® GAIN 2 knob : controls the output level of the distortion section. @ MASTER VOLUME knob : controls output level. This knob does not change the volume for the rhythm section. (D TREBLE knob : controls the relative volume of high frequencies. © MIDDLE knob : controls the relative volume of middle frequencies. © BASS knob : controls the relative volume of low frequencies. (D PRESENCE knob : controls the relative volume of frequencies higher than TREBLE frequencies. (D INPUT jack : accepts line input from electric guitar. ® RETURN jack : accepts output signal from your effect device when you are using the SEND jack. This jack also accepts line input from other equipment (like drum machine or cassette tape recorder) when you are not using the SEND jack. (Q) SEND jack : outputs guitar’s signal to your effects device or to other equipment (like a power amplifier or a tuner) when you are not using the RETURN jack. © HEADPHONES jack : When headphones are connected to this jack, the sound from the speaker is cut off. RHYTHM SECTION FOOT SWITCH jack : used to connect the foot switch (KAWAI F-1) for Start/Stop. RHYTHM VOLUME knob : controls output volume of the rhythm section. TEMPO knob : changes the tempo of a pattern. DISPLAY : displays the current pattern number or other informations. SELECT switches : used to change the pattern number or other values. PART SELECT switches : select which part of the pattern will play. TRANSPOSE switches : change the key of a pattern up or down. START/STOP switch : starts or stops a pattern. CARD slot : used to insert a KAWAI CARD ROM (available separately). Note : Insert the card slowly and carefully while making sure the arrow on the card is aligned with the arrow on the unit. Inserting the card with force or with the mark facing down can result in damage to the card and the slot. Connect an electric guitar to the INPUT jack. Then, turn on the power. 2. Turn on the RHYTHM SECTION by turning the RHYTHM VOLUME knob clockwise. 3.
