ALIGNING THE BLADES -Your machine has been inspected carefully before leaving the factor y to ensure that the blades are lubricated and alingned. -The blades should be realigned after removing them to lubricate or replace them. -To realign the blades move the blade lever to the top position and line up the teeth on the blades, tip by tip. (The end on the teeth on the upper blade should be approximately 1 mm away from those on the lower blade) (Fig. 1). -If the blade are not aligned correctly: Loosen the screws slightly and make the necessar y adjustments (Fig. 3). Retighten the screws after aligning the blades. OIL -Periodic lubrication will make the blades last much longer. Lubricate the blades after every few uses. (Fig. 2) -Only use the oil supplied with the appliance. Apply a few drops to the teeth on the blades and switch the appliance on for a few seconds. Never use hair oil, grease mixed with kerosene or any type of solvent. As the solvent evaporates it will leave a thick layer of grease that will slow down the movement of the blades. BLADE LEVER (Fig. 4) -The maximum rotation for the lever is 45° from the lowest to the highest position. Do not force the lever beyond these limits as it may break. -This lever makes the machine more versatile and allows gradual changes in the cut without having to change the guide combs. -When the lever is in the highest position the blades will cut the hair shorter. Pressing the lever down gradually increases the length of the hair. HAIR CUTTING TIPS 1. Comb any tangles out of the hair before attempting to cut it. 2. Cut the hair slowly. Advance gradually over the whole head. Always cut small amounts of hair, it can always be retrimmed later. 3. Comb the hair back frequently during cutting, according to the style that you want. 4. It is best to keep the hair dr y, not wet, when cutting with this machine. It is much easier to control the amount of hair being cut with dry hair. 5. For uniform length haircuts just allow the guide to move through the hair. Do not force it or make sharp movements. Remember to frequently comb the hair in order to remove cut hair and to make sure that it is even. HOW TO BEGIN CUTTING HAIR Hair cutting requires practice. It is best not to cut hair too short the first few times until you get used to the lengths that you can achieve with each accessor y. Accessories: Accessor y N. 1 leaves hairs 2 mm long. Accessor y N. 2 leaves hair 6mm long. Accessor y N. 3 leaves hair 13 mm long. Accessor y N. 4 leaves hair 19 mm long. Each accessor y is marked accordingly or shows the size on the outside of the central area. -To attach a cutting guide, slot the accessory on to the blades (Figure 5) and press down so that it locks on correctly (Figure 6). -To remove the cutting guide, pull on It gently. (Figure 7) CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Make sure that the appliance is unplugged for the electric socket before attempting to clean it.
