5). Tips • For style cutting tips please see the separate “step by step” chart. Especially note which comb attachment(s) and which cutting length setting(s) are advised for each specific haircut. • Ensure that your hair clipper is clean. • Look carefully at the person’s hair you are about to cut. Wrap a towel around his/her neck. • Comb the hair thoroughly. Ensure that it is not tangled. • It is not advisable to wash the hair before cutting. The best results will be achieved on dry hair. • Select the correct comb attachment for the desired haircut. • Place the flat side of the comb attachment against the scalp. Move the comb slowly and yet firmly through the hair. • In general, it is advisable to start from the neck and sides and then work towards the top of the head. After this, cut from the front towards the crown. • When cutting hair to a length of more than 40 mm, it is advisable to cut over a styling comb (fig. 6) or to grasp the hair between your fingers (fig. 7). • For short hair, a light trimming at the neck and sides may be all that is needed for a well-groomed haircut. • At regular intervals stop cutting, comb the hair and check the results so far. • Regularly shake (fig. 8) and/or blow (fig. 9) the hairs from the top of the appliance. If a lot of hair has accumulated in the comb area, pull off the comb attachment and remove the hair by shaking and/or blowing. • If the cutting speed decreases it may be necessary to clean the blade. • Always clean the cutting unit immediately after use. Cleaning: after each use - Switch the hair clipper off (fig. 10). - Pull the cutting unit from the appliance (fig. 11). - Brush away the collected hair (fig. 12); - Push the cutting unit back on to the appliance (“Click!”) (fig.13).
