Use an approved tester. Sparks can ignite fumes. Don’t crank engine with spark plug removed. If the engine is flooded, open the choke and pull recoil until engine starts. If this fails, read and follow the section “Operation” (Pg. 8). Don’t run engine when the odor of gasoline is present or other explosive conditions exist. Don’t operate the unit if gasoline is spilled. Clean up spill completely before starting engine. Don’t refuel indoors or in an improperly ventilated area. Don’t operate your trimmer if there is an accumulation of debris around the muffler, and cooling fins. Don’t touch hot mufflers, cylinders or cooling fins as contact may cause serious burns. D. Engine/ Fuel Warnings - "Do’s" Always use fresh gasoline in the fuel mixture. Stale gasoline can cause leakage. Always pull starter cord slowly until resistance is felt. Then pull cord rapidly to avoid kickback and prevent arm or hand injury. Always operate engine with spark arrestor installed and operating properly. The use of spark arrestor mufflers is required by law in the state of California (Section 4442 of the California Public Resources Code), as well as in other states or municipalities. Federal laws apply on federal lands. Always handle fuel with care; it is highly flammable. Never add fuel to a machine with a running or hot engine. Do not inhale fuel fumes as they are toxic. Always know how to stop the machine quickly in an emergency The spark ignition system meets all requirements of the Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment Regulations. 5. Assembly Instructions WARNING – DANGER BLADES ARE EXTREMELY SHARP! TO AVOID INJURY WHEN UNPACKING THE HEDGE TRIMMER, DO NOT GRASP THE BLADES. A. Short Shaft Models 1. Your Little Wonder hedge trimmer has been mostly assembled for you at the factory. No tools are required to complete the assembly. 2. Pull the spring pin up on the cutter head assembly and slide it onto the shaft lining up the drive shaft. 3. When the drive shaft is properly aligned, the spring pin of the cutter head will drop into the hole on the shaft. 4. Pull on the gearbox to make sure the pin is engaged with the hole on the shaft. Failure to engage the gearbox to the shaft completely could cause damage to your hedge trimmer. 5Tighten the round knob. 6. The handles have been assembled at the factory and set according to the average size man. The loop handle can be adjusted to the operator’s preference by simply loosening Step 1 Step 2 Front View Knob Spring Pin Shaft Hole the screws and sliding them up or down the shaft. No tools are required to complete the assembly. 2. Pull the spring pin up on the 24" shaft assembly and slide it onto the shaft lining up the drive shaft. 3. When the drive shaft is properly aligned, the spring pin of the 24" shaft will drop into the hole on the 36" shaft. 4. Pull the spring pin up on the cutter head assembly and slide it onto the 24" shaft lining up the drive shaft. 5. When the drive shaft is properly aligned, the spring pin of the cutter head will drop into the hole on the shaft. 6. Pull on the gearbox to make sure the pin is engaged with the hole on the shaft. Failure to engage the gearbox to the shaft completely could cause damage to your hedge trimmer. 7. Tighten the round knob. 8. The handles have been assembled at the factory and set according to the average size man. Fuel Mixture WARNING – DANGER FUEL IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. HANDLE IT WITH CARE. KEEP AWAY FROM IGNITION SOURCES. DO NOT SMOKE WHILE FUELING YOUR EQUIPMENT. Your Little Wonder Extended Reach Hedge Trimmer is powered by an KOMATSU ZENOAH Model G24LSI which is a two stroke, air cooled engine requiring a fuel mixture of gasoline and lubricating oil. 1. Important Engine Information This unit is certified to operate on approved two-stroke fuel (a mixture of 2-stroke oil and gasoline). 2. Fuel Statement These engines are certified to operate on unleaded gasoline. Make sure to use a gasoline with a minimum octane number of 90 ROZ (USA/Canada: pump octane min. 87). Unleaded gasoline is recommended to reduce the contamination of the air for the sake of your health and the environment. Poor quality gasoline or oils may damage sealing rings, fuel lines or fuel tank of the engine. 3. Two-Stroke Oil Use only Komatsu Zenoah 50:1 2 stroke oil.
