sheet size - DIN A4 Safety instructions Injury hazard • This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. • Unplug the power cable after every use and before cleaning, so as to prevent the appliance from switching itself on inadvertently. • Check the appliance and all parts for visible damages. The safety concept can work only if the appliance is in a faultless condition. • Ensure that the appliance stands at a safe and secure positioning. • Do not operate the appliance if it has sustained a fall or is damaged. Arrange for the appliance to be checked and, if necessary, repaired by qualified technicians. Some parts of the appliance become very hot during operation. To avoid burns, do not touch these parts. • Do not use an extension cable. Place the appliance where the power wall socket is easily accessible, so that in the event of an emergency the plug can be quickly withdrawn. Never insert your hands into the binding shaft. There is a risk of being burnt! - 2 Risk of electric shocks. • Connect the appliance to a mains power socket supplying a voltage of 220 - 240 V ~ /50 Hz. • Do not operate the appliance if the power cable or power plug is damaged. • Arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department. • Never immerse the appliance in water. Just wipe it with a damp cloth. • Do not expose the appliance to rain and never use it in a humid or wet environment. • Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet during operation. • Unplug the appliance immediately after use. The appliance is free of electricity only when you remove the power plug from the power socket. • Do not open the casing or attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Although this thermal binder satisfies all relevant safety norms and standards, functional errors can never be completely discounted - as with all electrical appliances. Functional errors with the appliance could cause damage to the documents being bound. This is normal and dissipates after a short time. Provide for sufficient ventilation. Open a window, for example. 1. Ensure the appliance has a stable positioning. 2. Fold the retainer bracket 8 upwards, until it engages, and draw the document holder 2 out. - 3 3. Insert the plug into a mains power socket. 4. Switch the appliance on by pressing the ON / OFF switch 4. The red control lamp 7 glows. • As soon as the green control lamp 6 glows the appliance has reached its operating temperature. Additionally, an acoustic signal sounds. 5. Select a suitable thermal binder cover for your document: Number of sheets 80g/m2 Brochure thikkness in mm 20 2 mm 30 3 mm 60 6 mm 6. Tap the sides of the sheaf of papers a few times to ensure that ALL of the sheets are lying exactly above each other. 7. Lay the sheets into a suitable thermal binder cover and then tap them down a couple of times, against and using the cover spine. 8. Slide the thermal binder brochure through the reteainer bracket 8 into the binding shaft 1 such that the spine of the brochure makes firm contact with the hotplate on the floor of the thermal shaft 1. 9. Press the START 5 button. The control lamp 7 glows, the control lamp 6 blinks. 10. As soon as an acoustic signal sounds and the control lamp 6 glows constantly you can remove the thermally bound brochure from the binding shaft 1. Place it in the document holder 2 so that the adhesive can harden. The binding is sufficiently hardened after approx. 60 seconds. 11. After use, place the ON/OFF switch 4 at O and remove the plug ...
