When using a longer cord, be sure it does not drape over a working area or dangle where it could be pulled on or tripped over. Handle cord carefully for longer life; avoid jerking or straining it at outlet and appliance connections. SUGGESTED USES: Use the SlimGrip® Electric Knife for foods such as: • roasts • salami • hard cheese • pineapple • turkey/chicken • homemade bread BEFORE USING CAUTION: Be sure the Safety Lock Button is in the “Lock” position before inserting or removing Blades. Insert Blades so that the serrated edge is facing down AWAY from you (see Figure A, Page 4). NEVER place your hand over the blade to support it while operating this knife. The Blades are designed to slide back and forth to provide cutting action. 3 REMOVING BLADES To remove the Blades, press the Blade Release Buttons on both sides of the Handle. Grasp the Blades on the flat area in front of the Grease Guards and pull away from the Handle. PAIRING /TRIMMING The SlimGrip® Deluxe Electric Knife (Model EK200) includes 6-3/4” Pairing/Trimming (Model EK200 only) Blades which provide greater flexibility for hard-to-reach areas and smaller foods. Use the Pairing/Trimming Blades to trim or slice foods such as: • apples • potatoes • onions • pepperoni NOTE: Before inserting the Pairing/Trimming Blades, be sure the Lock Button is in the “Lock” position and the cord is unplugged. Care Guide CLEANING Other than the care mentioned in this manual, no additional maintenance or servicing of this appliance is required. Repairs, if necessary, must be performed by a Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. Household Appliance Company-Owned or Authorized Service Center. Before cleaning any part of the Electric Knife, move the Lock Button to the “Locked” position, unplug the cord, and remove the Blades. Be sure to dry all parts thoroughly before next use. 6 SERVICE OR REPAIR Knife Blades may be washed in hot, sudsy water or in the dishwasher.
